I went in to Firestone on Friday to get my lower ball joint and CV axle replaced. After hearing the price of 550 I was skeptical but agreed as I was tired of the clunking noise. Then TJ, the person who I spoke with, told me ""Here's what I'm going to do for you."" I'll inspect the car and make sure that this is the work that needs to be done, because you never know, this may not be correct."" I'm thinking yea sure why not. So I get the quote, Sign off, and get picked up because it was 6 and they close at 7, not enough time to do the front end work. \r
I get a call at 9 in the morning with an urgent message to call TJ immediately to discuss additional parts and problems with the car. He listed off an arsenal of issues which brought the car over 1100 dollars. With my morning now riddled with auto-dispair, I called him back and discussed the problems eventually deciding to wait on the additional work. He said he would let me do my own oil change to save 10 dollars. wow gee gosh thanks Mr. that should lighten the load. \r
\r
I waited for a call telling me my car was ready but it didn't come. I decided to call around noon and they said it had been all set since 10. No call? awseome!!\r
\r
I hitched a ride to Firestone and walked inside to grab the keys, pay, and bounce. But what's this?!?! the cost is only 43 dollars? Why? Oh..you didn't do the work I originally asked you to do besides the oil change and inspection that cost 20 dollars. Which, by the way, was never mentioned to me the previous day. \r
\r
I walked out dumbfounded that nothing was finished but an oil change and inspection that I never really asked for but was conned into getting(watch out for TJ). I was upset I wasted a day on this company, yet happy that I didn't waste my money on them. \r

I can't blame the workers here, but the company has some major flaws. The communication breakdown was at the heart of my complaint, but the fact that Firestone mechanics are bound by the numbers on their computers and there is no leniency or bargaining. Drivers Beware!
Pros: Near my apartment, workers have friendly demeanor
Cons: Overpriced. Untrustworthy. Incompetent
