Editorial review from Citysearch 10/21/2013

The firestone in Brick offers unequivocally the worst service in Brick township for auto care. I went to this place twice to have basic work done on my car (Oil changes, tire rotation, tire replacement etc..), and both times they had me waiting in excess of two hours. Admittedly, they did tell me it was going to take an hour, but I was almost waiting three hours just to replace my tires. I watched as the one who was working on my car mysteriously disappeared for 45 minutes, only to later find out he decided to go out for lunch after taking all the tires off of my car. When I asked about it, the manager kept telling me that it would only be a few minutes until my car was done--that ""few minutes"" lasted well over an hour. After which my alignment was off, and they wanted to charge me more to fix it. In the end, it ended up costing more than I was quoted at the beginning, and taking longer than I was told (both times). I will not be returning to Firestone again. more

Very Expensive 12/9/2008

I went to this place to have my 2000 Honda Accord checked out because it felt like it was going to stall out at stops and the check engine light was on. Being new to the Brick, NJ area I figured going to a repair shop with a well known name would be my safest option. The first thing I found to be annoying right off the bat was the $96 charge for an on-board computer diagnosis. I know some mechanics will do this for free or at least waive the fee if you have repairs done at their shop. Anyway, the people at Firestone found that I needed a new oxygen sensor. I am not sure if this is a good price or not but it broke down to about $230 for the sensor itself and $ 76 in labor, total of around $306. On top of that they suggested a tune up for $65 and a fuel system tune up for $ 90. When I went to pick the car up the following day they informed me I also needed ignition wires for $92. Although, other things were done to the car, the way I look at it is that the grand total for me to have my oxygen sensor replaced was $658.39, this includes taxes. Here is the breakdown:\r \r On Board Computer Diagnosis- $96\r \r Tune up- $65.50\r \r Fuel System Tune Up- 89.99\r \r Oxygen Sensor- 255.82\r \r Ignition wires- $92\r \r Total- $658\r \r Most people I have talked to said that seems really high, so I kind of feel like I got a bad deal. The thing that really got me was that my check engine light went on again less than three months later and I called Firestone to see what they could do. The lady told me that they would once again charge me the $96 dollar computer diagnosis fee, unless it turns out to be the same problem than the fee is waived. I was really disappointed due to the fact I had just spent over $650 at their shop not to long ago. She was not very interested with my argument and said that is the way they do business. I cannot imagine ever going back to any Firestone shop again after this experience.\r Cons: Price more
