I took my car to have its battery replaced and an auto part store, and driving it home the car was really rough. I called Firestone, because a work friend used them and because they are open on Sunday, very important if you work M-F.
The gentleman came outside to listen to my engine, told me that it was the intake that had dry rotted. I asked him if he could replace it, and was told it was more of a dealer item. He did tell me that taping it would fix the problem in the meantime.
I have ordered the part and did a duct tape repair. Immediately, the car worked very well again. Did they make any money from me that day? No. Did they make a dedicated customer? Yes. That car needs inspection, and belts changed. It will need tires again, and guess where I will be taking it. That's right, I will be bringing my car to these guys who know what they are doing.
