My daughters 1997 Ford Taurus was having problems with no heat and then it over heated on a Sunday. She took it to them to have it checked. They said a freeze plug was leaking and coolant leaked out. They filled it and told her to take it to a dealer. They said it would be ok to drive as long as she kept an eye on the coolant. on Monday evening coming home it over heated again after she got off the intersate and she checked the coolant before leaving from work. I live 500 miles from Nashville and could not drive there till the next weekend. She had to have her car to get to work so I told her to take it back to Firestone and have them replace the Waterpump and Thermostat. I told her it would probably cost $250 to $300. Waterpump $50 & Thermostat $9 at Autozone. She took it to them Tuesday morning. They said they would replace but would not gaurantee that would fix her overheat and lack of heat problems because it could be a clogged radiator and heater core. They charged her
