Best

My sister and I recently visited Nashville for the All For the Hall Concert and read that the breakfasts at Fido's were fantastic. Rachel Ray had recommended the brother shop (Bo...

I've been going to Fido since its opening. No offense to Bongo Bob, but I think the ex-pet shop's best days are behind it. There are certainly more interesting places to people-...

Always good 10/16/2006

This places just keeps going strong. Nothing fancy, just good food always. You can't go wrong. The servings are good sized and the coffee is strong. The staff's not overly congenial, but always polite and friendly. I'd forgotten about this place, and happened to be in the village the other day, so I stopped in, and as always, I'm glad I did. A Nashville tradition not to be forgotten. Cons: village parking more

We love it! 8/18/2006

We read about Fido's on the Tennessean website as one of the top 10 places to eat. It definately is! We have been there several times and the food and service are always great! more

the anti-starbucks!! 7/14/2006

fido is such a great coffee shop, but the wait staff is full of teenage angst types with tattoos and piercings galore. however, the coffee is awesome. it makes starbucks taste like folgers. support this great local coffee shop! Pros: coffee, coffee, and coffee more

Thank you for the great service from Brian C & JJ 7/11/2006

Great place to lay back and enjoy being in Nashville, coffee was the best and the people that work there are number 1 in my book. Food was more than enought and brought out the taste buds I forgot about from eating too much fast food...thank you for a wonderful experience Pros: Nice people, great food and coffee Cons: The only "con" is if you haven't been there yet... more

Take it from me 11/7/2005

Let me say this first: I have been a professional Barista for three years and have won local competitions for ""slingin' coffee."" Lately I have been going in to Fido every day because their lattes are superb! Their Baristas have been nothing but great, and their coffee and tea is all organic and fair trade! Can you really get any better? I commend the owner for being so conscious of the world we live in while providing a place for the community to gather and drink a d**n good cup of coffee. The service is quick and friendly and (while no restaurant is perfect) they always remember my name. more

Funky vibe - great food! 9/30/2004

The Village Burrito rocks! At $6 it's enough for 2 people to share. I can't seem to get past it when I order. Fido has a great vibe with a lot of character. I like their 'no microwaves' policy and their creative menu. Great coffee and an exciting selection of teas and other drinks. Take a jacket in summer - it's chilly inside with a little too much air conditioning for my liking. Pros: Food, drinks, vibe, Parking (in back) Cons: , Cold inside in summer more

West Coast Barista 3/28/2004

Fido has great potential, but everytime I have gone in there I get attitude and gross espresso drinks! Does anyone know how to time shots and steam milk properly? Now I just get brewed coffee, but even the coffee is syrupy, muddy, and luke-warm. Sorry.....I've been coming in for a while, but I'll go elsewhere for good coffee. Pros: Good Atmosphere, Cool Idea, Good Menu Selection Cons: , Bad Coffee, Bad espresso drinks more

coffee & food 2/20/2003

The place has coffee that is roasted daily at their other place. The coffe is great. And the food is better than ever. Very veggie friendly. Portabello mushroom sandwhich, eggplant tower, daily fish specials. Sit in a booth and watch all of Nashville's whose who come in. And the whole dog thing is so cute! You gotta have a t-shirt. Pros: location, coffee, food more

I know a guy that works there. 12/15/2002

It has great furniture and its a fun place to hang out with your friends. They have cool t-shirts too. more

Glory Days gone! 12/14/2002

I've been going to Fido since its opening. No offense to Bongo Bob, but I think the ex-pet shop's best days are behind it. There are certainly more interesting places to people-watch. Coffee is still good (thanks to the roasting company), but food and service leave a lot to be desired. Where have all the good baristas gone? Where have you gone Jamie and Shaun? Pros: Location, Location, Location Cons: Food, Service, Culturally bland more

not impressed 9/17/2002

I wouldn't say Fido is bad, but it is definately overrated. Nashville has a lot of great coffee houses, and it's easy to find somewhere with a better atmosphere and better coffee. Much better than Starbucks, but it's no Coco's. more

Who Knew? 8/15/2002

Who knew that an old pet shop, would be turned into an incredible place to get a cup of coffee, and have some of the most incredible opportunities to people watch? Fido offers a great variety of coffee and a unusual variety of people. It also has the strangest ability to make anyone feel welcome... more

what a joke 6/24/2002

I went there thinking that it was a real coffeeshop but found out that it was just a place for people to be on display while they pretend to be interesting. The staff, although attractive and in high fashion, rarely smiled. The owners have obviously put their stamp on this place. more
