I experienced similar issues as the other two people who wrote reviews about Fidelity Collections (AKA Portland Credit, Inc). They are so sketchy that they incorporated their business under one name but use a DBA (doing business as) name. The difference between me and the other reviewers is that they did sue me and i did pay them three years ago. Yet they still report to the credit bureau's that i haven't payed them. when i dispute it with the bureau's the continously tell me that Fidelity claims i have never paid them any thing. Yet if i call Fidelity they acknowledge that i payed them but refuse to send me a receipt or any information regarding their claim against me. I am not even a debtor to these people yet they still harass and taunt me me in the same illegal manner. The report mutiple debts on my credit post the settlement payment date because the courts agreed that most of the claim against me wasn;t even valid. yet the still try to report the remaining balance in direct violation of a court order. They are part of a ring of businesses involved in lending fraudulent lending and it makes me sick to know that they aren't in prison. Everyone who works there claims they are the supervisor and have gone as far as making threats of violence against me when i said that if they refuse to mail me a receipt i would be willing to drive down there to pick one up. more

Horrible Customer Service 7/8/2008

This company has no regard for the consumer rights or regulations set by the Attorney General in Oregon. I received a call from Len Scott in June stating that they had mailed a letter showing that I owed the debt & ""weren't responible for the mail system"" if it hadn't reached me. I disputed a medical bill, because I didn't know I owed it and wanted to make sure it was a valid debt from 2 years ago. The disputed mailing had all my current information- including cell ph#, but I rec'd another call @ work from Len on the 3rd of July on my voicemail & then received another call the following Tues July 8th. I acknowledged that I did owe the debt & offered to make $20 monthly payments (I read online that they can't force you into a payment plan you can't afford) & he stated I had to make it in 2mo payments or be sued & hung up. I called the agency that sent me to this collection agancy & lodged a complaint w/ them. They called Fidelity & said that they would now take my payment plan & to call them back. I did & had to leave a message, because Len was out on lunch. I also called the receptionist to complain to Len's supervisor & found out that he was the supervisor! Wish me luck on getting the payment plan worked out.... but I recommend any business to stay away from this collection agency. They are unwilling to work with people to get the money on the claim with payment plans & threaten their clients w/ unlegal means. I have also lodged a complaint w/ the Oregon Attorney General's office. more

Very bad customer service. 11/27/2007

This place needs to be avoided. they have rude agents call people at work, call them liars and threaten to contact HR on first contact without verifying any information with the debtor. Pros: persistant Cons: They do not verify information before harassing people more
