The Fernley water treatment plant has undergone many contortions of problems, poor designs, and cost overruns along the way. The latest is another $5 million design change to go to solid waste disposal from the current unworkable liquid waste disposal system. All these changes reflect incompetant and ineffective management and oversight by the Fernley public works department and inept city council. The cost continues to escalate and is projected to be over $88 million direct cost to the citizens. That is a lot more than the $19 million of the Fallon plant and conveyance system which by the way $18 million came from state and federal grants. The citizens of Fernley are on the hook for well over $153 million in bond payoffs. Is Fernley facing bankruptsy because of their water treatment plant??? Very likely.....
Cons: No competence, no confidence
