The class doesn't cost too much if you get a discount, to be fair. But the stuff kids can learn is limited. The instructor gave tests once every 4-6 months and each time kids get a trophy and certificate. But I saw most kids doing the same routines at about the same skill level one test after another. At least my son stopped showing obvious progress after the first 3 months. The tests seemed just a means of keeping kids interested and we had to pay for the trophy and etc. After more than a year, my son wanted to quit. Here comes the worst part. Last tuition payment we made was for one full year (at a discount) at the beginning of the year. At first, the owners refused to refund us the rest of money. We had to contact them several times and after a couple of weeks, they reluctantly agreed to do that but with a catch. We had to pay not only regular tuition (without discount) for past classes, but also an extra 35% of the unused balance. In our case, this 35% means over $200! How many small kids can promise to learn something for a year and actually follow through? My son was only six and a half. This kind of cancellation policy is almost like a rip-off, not to say the hassle to get refund in the first place! I wouldn't recommend this wushu school to anyone. more

FANTABULOUS PLACE 4/26/2011

I have been with CWA for eight or nine years (lost track haha) and I must say, CWA has a VERY friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Everyone knows everyone at this school and no one ever feels alone. Coach Peter is a very friendly and fun-loving guy. This isn't to say he is a carefree coach however. He can be strict when he needs to be, and is always there to help people correct their forms and basics, and guide people in the right directions. He has been training Wushu since he was little and is very good at teaching as well as performing it. Definitely a well qualified coach. I very much recommend this school as it has a fun learning environment and to top it off, you get a good work out. Whether you are a child or an adult, this is the best place you could possibly go to to make some new friends while getting a good work out. more

California Wushu Academy! 4/20/2011

I have been going to Coach Peter's, California Wushu Academy, for a couple years now. I am going to make this short and sweet for those of you who don't like long messages that take forever! Coach Peter is a friendly, honest, and kind person. He has taught me all I know of wushu and much more. He is a kind and supportive mentor, who isn't afraid to dish out what you deserve. He is straight forward and to the point, which is one of the many characteristics I love about him. He is still competing and is great at wushu. This is my first year that I will be competing and he has trained me well! California Wushu Academy is THE place to learn wushu. If you are interested, you better be running here! more
