I went to Faux for the first time last night. They close at 8:00 on Thursdays but a nice gentleman by the name of Jason took my last minute appointment at 8:00. He didnt rush me in and out. He actually spent over an hour with me. He was funny and warm and gave me a GREAT hair cut. I am hooked. Call them ask for Jason and tell him you were refered by Kendra! more

The Then and Now Salon 6/4/2006

I have been going there for a couple years , you could call me a hair hopper and I seem to always take myself back to this salon for something funky new and sexy...they can do it all!!!!! Hurray Faux and Natalie is tops!!! 4/30/2006

I was recently told by my best friend that I had the best haircut of my life. It's all thanks to Natalie at Faux! She practically reads my mind and can always decipher my haircut code. I love that this salon is diverse, modern, and full of creativity and style. I also think that the quality of talent and creativity among all the stylists encourages a sense of hair innovation and makes one want to be a bit bolder and more stylish with their salon experience. tons of compliments of my hairdo 3/20/2006

i've been going to gina hidalgo at faux for 5 years now. when i planned to move to LA last summer, i intended to still see gina for my cuts. she's brilliant and hilarious. i don't know about you but i hate trying to make conversation with strangers for more than 2 hours so i love that gina only takes about 15 minutes to cut my hair. she always knows exactly what looks good. i never know what i want except that i want bangs or it short. i've never had so many compliments on my hair before too. she definitely knows what looks hot and sassy. and i'm not nodding off while she's cutting my hair either! So, you want a REAL haircut? 1/26/2006

I thought I would have no problem finding a great stylist in San Jose. Actually, I repeatedly had problems. I hopped from one salon/$50-disappointment to the next getting HALF-ASS haircuts from unskilled/scared/uninspired stylists. Thank GOD I finally landed at FAUX! I got a great cut & color 12/14/2005

The stylist I saw was considerate and really listened to what I needed in a haircut. I am a stay at home mom (used to get hair done in SF) with a new baby! When I asked about coloring my gray hairs, she recommended foiling in 2 colors as opposed to just one color thru-out. I LOVE my new hair cut. It's definitely wash n' wear only or with minimal drying and styling! She was considerate into keeping to my budget ($150)and she offered & provided water or tea if I wanted. It took about 3 hours and I felt relaxed since my hubby watched the baby. Thx to the person who said it was CASH ONLY place. Ambience can get a little noisy if you aren't used to it. Don't look any further FAUX has everything you'll need which is why you'll see children, wedding parties, punk rockers, grandmas from Fresno, and wealthy socialites from NY. The salon is well run and it shows from the front desk staff, to the products he carries, to the cleanliness of the bathrooms. more

first of i have to disagree with one review...as i have been a client for over 6 years of faux salon...they are fierce..in every way...hair ,fashion..most of all creative in the skill, they've be taught...you get what you pay for ..so if its to steep...this not the place for you...quality honey not quanity..it is hard to get in so book ahead..the place is HOT...parking isnt good...its worth it.the parking ticket that is..... Excellent for color & cut 10/8/2005

The stylists are friendly and well trained. Modern atomosphere. Only downside is that the entire shop (services and supplies) is CASH only, so be sure to stop at an ATM first. Other than that though, the quality is fantastic. Recomended! Pros: talented staff, friendly, modern Cons: cash only more

NOT impressed 8/30/2005

Everyone has tattoos and really badly dyed kool-aid colored hair. The stylists have no style, not in their cuts, OR in their clothing. The guy who cut my hair did the exact OPPOSTIE of what I asked him..i'm loathing my haircut...considering shaving it off, its that bad. Trendy salon, trendy stylists, if thats your thing..then this is the place for you. Be sure to wear something with a brand name on it to fit in.... Pros: Convenient location, clean, on-time more

Great Place for Color and Cut 7/21/2005

Faux is one of the best hair salons in the Valley. The atmosphere is very cool- most of the stylists have bright-colored hair, trendy haircuts, a great sense of style, and lots of tattoos. The salon walls feature local artwork. The staff members are always very professional and friendly. Despite the salon's look, you'll see everyone from young kids to elderly women getting their hair cut there. Not disappointed yet not impressed either 3/8/2005

I went to Faux for the first time a couple weeks ago since I had read positive reviews on them. I walked in and the atmosphere was "cool" and my hair stylist was on time. I liked my haircut but I think the cost was a bit too much and the employees at the register weren't very friendly. I may go there again but I wouldn't make it my new favorite salon. I've been going to Faux for years 8/11/2004

I learned about this salon by word of mouth from different people, about 6 years ago when I was tramautized by a bad haircut. I decided to give this place a try because there was no way I was going to pay for a $12 haircut at some dive salon to fix my bad 'do. Iris cut my hair, and I was soooo happy when I left that place, she was totally awesome! She's super nice, super cool, fun to talk to, and she'll tell you if the cut you want works for you. I've been going to her ever since and I don't know what I'd do if she decided to leave Faux!! Pros: good haircut, good parking, great atmosphere more

this girl covered in ink is amazing. atmosphere is dope! give you kimono looking things to change into. she told me everything i could have and what would look fab on me. shes fast! in a blink of an eye she was done. i enjoyed the entire process! just remember cash or check only!
