Mickey Stasey has made the last two sets (pairs?) of bifocal lenses for me and they're so good! I had used one-hour optical chain stores before, but never could read or see well with the lenses I got there. I saw good reviews for South Austin Optical and decided to try it out. Mickey was very helpful and meticulous about fine tuning my prescription. I couldn't believe how well I could see with my new lenses. Really glad I found this place! more

I am 50 years old and have worn glasses for 42 years. I'm extremely perfectionistic to a fault. I have worn glasses from the highest end to the lower end, experiencing both ends of the spectrum with lenses and optical stores. So, I have some credibility with this review. My recent experience with Mickey Stasey was absolutely outstanding. I took a chance after reading the reviews on City Search and speaking with him on the phone. I was extremely pleased with both the service and QUALITY of my new glasses. My vision is problematic. Mickey was able to create a pair of lenses that are absolutely the best. This is the clearest, best vision I have ever had given my prescription. Also, I love the frame selection he has in the store and he was very helpful and patient in assisting me with the frames. Mickey is a perfectionist and he goes out of his way to make sure the measurements are precise and exact. He is a rare Optician these days, with experience, expertise and having a deep understanding of how to get it right! You won't find a more experienced Optician in Texas. I only hope and beg that he stays in business a long time because his expertise is not easily replaceable. more

I am new to having to wear glasses. Walk in the store on thursday talked with mickey about what i wanted in the style of glasses. He walk over to counter pick up the glasses i had pictured in my mind and said try theses on see what you think. I loved them!!!! This is the place you want to go for eye wear trust me. My daughter needed glasses in a hurry and Mickey opened up his store over the holidays to help us out. After a doctors' office suggestion, my wife and I went in. My wife was shown the best-looking glasses she's had. The fit was both technical and experience-based intuitive, quick, exacting and superior. Plus, while awaiting her new glasses, her old ones were refitted to be better than another optician, where she'd purchased the glasses, had done. My experience was the same. Great new glasses, better coating, better vision, better fit. And while waiting a week for the new ones, my old ill-fitting glasses were quickly made to fit better than ever.
