DON'T EVER CALL THEM...RIP OFF!!\r
I wish I would have read Jeremy A's post before I called Famous Appliance!! Infamous is more close to what happened to us. I called them three weeks ago about our washer that was not working and they were great to get out the same day. We were then told that the washer needed a part (a valve of some sort), that it would take 3-5 business days to come in, and that we needed to pay them upfront for parts and labor for them to do the work. Not having much spare time I went ahead and paid the $250. Seven business days later I called to get an update on the part and was told it was in and they would have someone come out that day. The technician did make it out installed it in about 15 min and stated we were up and running.\r
Two loads of laundry later it quit!! I called back to complain and they sent a different tech out (I didn't want the same person) who told us he knew what the problem was. It was the motor and to fix it would be an additional $300 on top of what we had already spent!! If they had diagnosed it right in the first place the bill would have been $550!\r
He kept telling us he was here for our benefit and all he was trying to do was help, the customer is always right, and if we decided to not have them do the work I could call and request a refund since they had misdiagnosed it in the first place.\r
We decided to do some research and found a part from the manufacturer was $150 so I ordered one.\r
I then called the company and asked for a refund last one week ago and was told they typically don't refund the entire amount and that I would have to pay a restocking fee on the part they installed in the washer they said I needed. Now I am getting bugged (if you couldn't already tell).\r
I was also told during that conversation that the technician was off the next day (Wednesday) and the dispatcher was off the following day (Thursday) so the first opportunity they would have to discuss my refund would be Friday. 4:45 on Friday I call to find out what the status was and was told they were working on it and would get back with me on Monday.\r
Called at noon on Monday was told it was sitting on the dispatchers desk and I she would call back in a few minutes. 4:45 I called and asked to speak to a manager and the person answering the phone told me it was Monday and a very busy day for them but they were working on it.\r
DON'T EVER CALL THEM...RIP OFF!!
