Five months ago, a 70-yr-old grandpa looked too long at some new trucks and blasted into the back end of my car going 45-50mph. My little Nissan was totalled and I walked away from the accident. However, what i didnt know, was that my spine was thrown completely out of alignment, i lost the top curve in my spine and i had severly exacerbated two, herniated and a bulging, disks. I went to ER and to my Primary Care Phys and all these people would do is throw some drugs at me and move on. when that was no longer working, my PCP sent me to a Physiatrist to get injections into the spine.
now i dont know about you...i hate pain. i hate menstrual cramps and i hate headaches. so the less poking the better.
an acquintenance reccomended i go see this guy. Dr. Knuutila, or Dr. K, as I call him. a likable, funny and so far so good doc.
i've been to see him everyday so far, for a week (that's just my treatment plan) and i'm suprised at how well i feel.
now i've heard it all before.... chiropractors are crooks, they take the money and dont do the work or they don it wrong or adjustments only make things worse, etc.... i am here to tell you that he is not like this.
He has great bedside manner and he's real easy to to talk to. He has a family, and he is family-orientated. He is easy to talk to, he has a sense of humor, and he is definitely not the 15min-and-that's-all-folks kinda guy. he's experienced and prepared. He went to Logan Chiropractic (a well recognized school in USA that focuses more on western medicine approach to chiropractic care) and has been in business for 11yrs at his current location. More than half of his patients have had a bad accident and about 90% of them he has treated to attain positive results. [Some of this he has told me and some of this I've researched online.]
I really reccomend this guy, he strikes me as one of those old fashioned docs who cares more about the patient than the $ or the quota or himself. I am glad he's treating me for my back and neck pain problems. i'll hope to write an addendum as I feel better in the next few months....
