I have never had a bad experience with a dental office until I came here. My first visit both the dentist and the assistant were rude. The dentist told me that I had to come back to have a root canal and that he would be doing the work. When I came in on the day of exam, there was another dentist there that did the work. I was asked to pay upfront a payment that I questioned was too high since I had insurance. I was told by the receptionist that the dentist that did my root canal was not covered by my insurance and that whatever my insurance paid them, I would owe the difference. If there was any money left, they would pay it back to me. I was infuriated that no one had informed me that the office had brought in someone that my insurance did not cover. What kind of practice does this? A couple weeks later, I called my insurance and asked them if they had received the bill and if there was any money that I was getting back. They told me that I was supposed to get back a significant amount. I called the dentist and the receptionist, after putting me on hold four times, finally said that she was not authorized to handle the situation and that she would have her manager call me back. After not hearing back for a week, I called again and was told the same thing. I was also rudely told that they were a very busy office and that they would eventually get back to me. After a month and a half of my ignored phone calls, I finally told them that I would have to take legal action if I did not get my money back. The receptionist told me that her manager had been been on vacation for a month and a half and that I would receive a check in the mail. I finally received the check after 3 months and probably would never have even known I was getting any money back if I hadn't called my insurance company. Word of advice: make sure to get a pre-estimate from your insurance before any procedures are done, and make sure the person working on your teeth is covered by your insurance.
