Family Dental Care

We have never has any issues with dentist before going to Dr. Maiello office. We've had worked done in getting crowns. However, after receiving our crowns, we had unbearable pain when chewing or drinking cold drinks. It was later determined that the persons performing the procedure for the crowns, hit a nerve resulting in it turning into root canals being necessary. Even though they took care of the first root canal in his office at no charge, they are avoiding handling the other root canal by sending us to a specialist in another office. This resulting in us having to pay hundreds of dollars for a root canal that should not have been necessary if they did the work correctly. There are definitely other issues with this office, but this is one of the biggest. We are now looking for another dentist to go to, and telling everyone not to go to this office. more

Rude, long wait, no personal care just a sales pitch for a credit card for more un-covered procedures that were not needed! just do the exam and cleaning already! They even tried to pull a tooth on my child before even asking me! good for them I walked back to see what was taking so long! another dentist said it was totally unnecessary and the tooth was perfectly healthy! DA's office needs to check them out for insurance fraud ASAP! more

This is the worst dentist office in Ventura county! Me and my family have been here many many times and the wait is always long and the staff is always rude! The last visit 11-3-2010 Dr. Cathy Maiello verbally abused my 11 yr old son, he is a very shy kid and speaks very quiet, she yelled at him "your in 6 grade, act like it! you know how to talk!" she then came out to the waiting room to tell me "he has an attitude" and she told him that the plastic flossers we have "wont do anything if you dont use them". what a rotten b*tch! is she completely lacking in social skills?!?!! I would never go back here, not just because of the murder/shooting last summer, but because the staff is so inexperienced that they cant do simple bite-wing x-rays without hurting your kids mouths, the tech bumbles around until someone more experienced comes to correct him! horrible all around office from front desk to back lab! There are so many other places to go, don't bother with this place. PS Ralph, sorry you are married to such a rotten old shrew! she's going to ruin your practice! more

Yes, I have dental insurance. Yes, i have come here many, many times. I have 5 children that have also been many times. Every visit we have had has taken months to get....fine. Every visit is a long wait....fine. But do they really have to find an out-of-pocket expense at every visit?? Sealants, Deep Cleaning, Overlays, Change out all filings from silver to white. Come on??!! Can I just get my cleaning? NO!!! I was refused my regular cleaning. The dentist refused to clean my teeth( a covered expense),because I did not want the deep cleaning( not covered). HE ACTUALLY REFUSED!!! They deny me my cleaning because I did not want deep cleaning on two quadrants. They are getting capitation money every month from my plan and refused to clean teeth. I am astounded. Had I paid them $64.00 ( which isn't a lot of money to me or irrational) I could have had my cleaning. BUT ITS THE PRINCIPLE!! Always wanting to make a buck. Unless you like to hand over money so that they may "REDO" their office once again.....STAY CLEAR. more

Long Waits. Appointments scheduled a month out. Office Staff couldn't keep track of payments. Got repeat bills on several occasions. Dentists over treat and can't keep track of what kind of fillings patient wants. Got mercury fillings and requested porcelain. Had to have cap redone 3 times. more
