Fallston Seafood

My wife and I came to Fallston Seafood for my birthday tonight. We were going to go to Texas Roadhouse but when I got home from work I had a craving for steamed crabs. I had heard good things about Fallston so we called to check on the availability of crabs. We were pleasantly surprised when we were told that all sizes and the all-you-can eat were available. No brainer - we went. Now the good and the bad......The place is actually really nice inside. We were greeted by a very professional & friendly waitress Lauren, who took our drink orders and was back in a flash. We were very impressed with the menu and already were making return plans. Then the food came. The cream of crab was so-so at best. Clams were good. My wife ordered a Porterhouse (she had eaten alot of seafood over the weekend) and I ordered the all you can eat crabs. She ordered the steak medium and it came out pretty well done, and not in a good sense. The waitress was very accommodating in taking it back. The crabs tasted like they were pre-cooked and re-steamed. I won't go into details on the flavor. Lets just say, not good. The claws were like jerky. (another sign of re-steaming or seriously over-steaming). My wife got her second steak, and it was VERY rare. She sent it back and when it came back it was cooked correctly but by that time we were ready to go. I only ate about 8 crabs and that was forcing it. Love the atmosphere and service but the food was really bad. Hope it was a fluke. We will try again during the season. Thanks again Lauren for at least keeping us from walking out. more

New management is deceptive. Menu on line has prices that aren't accurate. Ordercarryout from the on line menu, go to pick it up and find an almost 50% increase. This once was our go-to place, but htey sold out and now are simply a train wreck. Food went down hill, management is indifferent. Plenty of other better options nearby. more

This restaurant regularly sends out coupons in the Valpak of Centeral Maryland. They have a coupon for a 15% off Senior Citizen Special (60 years or older) which can be used Sunday thru Thursday Only. My party of six (two seniors, two adults and two children) ate there on a Sunday afternoon. One of the adults ordered a special, but the two seniors did not have specials, yet the waitress would not honor the coupon for the two seniors meals. The coupon states ""not valid with any other offers or specials"", BUT the two seniors did not order specials. Does mean that if there had been no specials ordered by anyone in the party that they would have taken 15% off the entire bill for six? I doubt it!!! It certainly is sad that they do have any respect for the senior citizen who was in fact paying the bill! Cons: They do not honor their coupons! more

Our visit to Fallston Seafood started out well. The waitress was friendly and helpful, and our Clams Casino appetizer was excellent. My salad looked ""out of the bag"", but we enjoyed the bread. The shrimp with crab imperial stuffing that my husband ordered was also good. Unfortunately, my ""lobster"" and crab alfredo pasta special was served with mysterious ground lobster patties that I have yet to identify. We actually thought they might be made of salmon, since they tasted fishy and had a strange pink color. The pasta itself was very good, but was overshadowed by being charged lobster prices for frozen lobster bits. Stick with the crabs, and the fried or specifically advertised as ""fresh"" seafood, and it should be a nice experience. more

I got a case of the crabs at Fallston Seafood, It was the best I ever had. Where's the BEEF?, at Fallston Seafood. If you like getting the BEEF, Fallston Seafood will give it to you all night long! Pros: Getting the beef and a case of the crabs, all at once! Cons: Can't go every day! more

Don't walk, run to this place!\r A friend of mine told me about this hidden jewel, well he was right on the money. I have been to all of the so-called best seafood restaurants in Maryland, and this one tops them all. The decor is relaxing and friendly as well as the staff. The food was out of this world ""perfect"". The price was right and less then the old crappy Red Lobster. I left there full and smiling. I have been back several times since my first visit in Feb. 06. During the week, you need to check out the Fallston Seafood restaurant for all-you-can-eat crabs. It is the best deal at $19.99 a person. These blue crabs are seasoned perfectly with Old Bay and the only accompaniment needed is a cold beer. Or if you perfer, call ahead and save a dozen of their jumbo crabs. You won't regret it.
