Not only is it awesome, but get this...their breakfasts are the best in town! Breakfast at Falafel King? Really...it was so, so very good!

Owner is a prick! 6/12/2011

We've eaten here a lot and the food is very passable. We were there on 6/12/11, the cashier took our order, was presented w/ a Crowd Cut coupon, accepted it, and treated us decently. The owner (who had been busy yelling at his help) saw the coupon and made up our order. 1 gyro and 1 gyro combo. He slapped the combo together, threw it on the counter and said ""orders' done"". At which point I (politely) said ""the Hell it is!"" At which time he threw my gyro on top of the combo(not admitting he tried to screw us over). We won't go back- EVER. more

Over priced, under serviced. 10/19/2010

This was a horrible experience, $9 for a ""King Falafel Sandwich"", which should have included tahini and pepper sauce (both of which I really wanted and said so to the guy (LAMEO) taking our order, both were absent when I got back to where we were staying for the night (we were visiting from Milwaukee, WI). Called just let them know I was disappointed and was told I could have a refund or another sandwich, I opted for the sandwich figuring I'd give them another shot. Was told I could get it that night or the next day, I called later that night to tell them that the show we were seeing was out late and we would be there tomorrow, and was told (by the guy who took our order and messed it up) that the mistake they made wasn't worth a whole new sandwich but I could have a free dessert or something. ???? I never asked for anything, I was offered this and then they said no you can't have that!??!!? I wanted to go there and get my $2 tip back (yes I even tipped on a to go order, cause that's how I roll and the guy that took my order saw me leave the tip, even thanked me for it and then told me ""HIS"" mistake was not worth what I was offered), wish I had taken the tip back, because that food and service were not worth a $2 tip, but you can have this face down penny! Oh and the falafel is sub par by my standards. more

Now I remember why I never go here... 5/22/2010

:P I was in the neightborhood and in the mood for a falafel sandwich...I hadn't been there in a while, and now I remember why. I paid my $8 for the small sandwich and waited..... Pros: convenient location for some activities Cons: Poor quality food, no parking more

A great place for late-night food 8/2/2006

If it's late and you're hungry, the Falafel King is a pretty good choice. The food is prepared quickly and the portions are ample. I always get the Falafel sandwich, and it's a good one. The falafels seem to be hand-made (as opposed to the horrible squeezed-from-a-bag kind that are becoming increasingly and disappointly common) and they have a nice flavor. The sandwiches are never quite the same twice--the cooks seem to like to sort of ""wing it"" when it comes to ingredients. Sometimes my wife and I will both get one and each one is prepared slightly differently (different toppings, sometimes even different sauce). Fine with me. Variety is the spice of life and all that. They also have the usual gyros, shawirma, etc., which I've never tried because I'm a vegetarian. The pickles are definitely worth checking out if you're into some interesting (and sometimes downright weird) flavors. I particularly like the yellow ones with the lines on them (sort of look like large yellow okra, although I have no idea what they actually are). Pros: Good, fast and cheap. Cons: The cooks need to learn to wash their hands every time they make a sandwich. more

The best falafel in town! 8/22/2002

Falafel King is the best for falafel in Minneapolis. The falafel itself is a perfect blend and you can count on it being hot and fresh! You can even get it spicy with a hot pepper relish. The hummus is also excelent with their pita bread and they garnish it with greek olives and hot yellow peppers. Falafel King deserves five stars! Pros: Inexpensive, fresh, vegetarian selection Cons: Skywy has no seeting, parking on the street more
