Goodbye glasses/contacts! 1/21/2010

I got my LASIK done yesterday and I'm so thrilled with my new eyes! It's still a tiny bit fuzzy (like wearing dirty contacts) but I can wake up in the morning be able to see the clock without fumbling around for glasses. And I don't have to worry about contacts that irraitate my eyes. I was scared to do it at first but looking back it was soo fast, easy and painless just like they told me it would be that I can't believe I was scared to do it. I only wish I'd done it sooner! For anyone out there who's looking into LASIK at all, get it done at Pacific Vision Institute and you won't regret it. It will change your life. Also, if you're serious about doing it and would like a $300 discount referral card please feel free to contact me. Pros: friendly, professional staff, top-of-the-line equipment Cons: a little pricey more

Best Lasik doc in San Francisco 4/11/2009

I've been wearing contacts for 18 years. I kind of got tired of wearing them and I was skeptical about the laser. My optometrist told me to look into it and see if I was a candidate. He said that he waited too, and then had it done last year at Pacific Vision Institute. I did not even know I was a good candidate for it. Anyhow, I went in for a consultation and was very impressed. They really know what they are doing. Dr. Faktorovich was very cool. Amazingly accomplished and impressive lady. Every person I met at her office seemed to know their stuff. One other thing that impressed me were all these pictures of eye doctors who had it done there. It's been 5 months and 12 days since I had lasik and I'm still amazed at the result that I got. Thanks to all of you guys at Pacific Vision, especially Dr. Faktorovich. Pros: There is nobody who's better! Cons: not cheap more

This is the best thing I've ever done for myself! 3/5/2009

My brother had a procedure at Pacific Vision Institute. He couldn't stop raving about them and he's so picky, picky. I've been wearing contacts since I was 17 and I was getting jealous of how well he could see. So I went to check them out. This office is quite impressive. They've got all the latest gizmos, plus they have photos of all these eye doctors who had their eyes done there. I had lasik with dr. Faktorovich (sp?). I love it. I'm even more ecstatic than my brother. Him and I are constantly competing now to see who can see better :) more

How AMAZING I can see again! Only this time CLEARLY! 8/9/2008

I went in for a consultation with the director and top surgeon Dr Ella Fakrovich. Immediately I was made to feel comfortable and confident that she could restore my vision! I was sick and tired of wearing contact lenses! (I had worn them for over 30 years!) and the last two times trying to remove a contact lense from my eyes I ended up scratching my cornea! If you have ever done that to yourself you know what it's like, similar to having someone scratch your eyeball with a razor! Anyway, so I went in she was able to determine (through a series of tests) that I had an eye infection and some scarring on one of my eyes (after having worn those damn contact lenses!) and I was told they could not perform the LASIK (or in my case ""PRK"") until the infection was cleared up. That took nearly 2-3 weeks with some antibiotic eye drops they gave me. I thought to myself, Wow these people are truly professional, not just ...take your money, do the procedure and you are history. My eyes cleared up I went in for the procedure which was (I am not going to lie to you!) painful! (however I was advised of this during the consultation) I ended up being out of work for roughly 4-5 days on Vicedin! (again be sure to ask them, ""PRK"" is different than basic LASIK surgery, plus I had some scarring they needed to remove as well) All in all I DO NOT regret having this done. I can finally see again (even at night!) as some people warned me that my ""night-vision"" might be effected, not at all. Now I have 20/20 vision and I feel FREE from the burden of contact lenses(not to mention the expense of those!) So I would HIGHLY recommend Dr Ella Fakrovich to anyone! Everyone else at the Institure was pleasant as well! Front desk staff, financing lady, and my eye care specialist (doctor) that examines my eyes (Dr Fong) So if you are sick and tired of wearing glasses or contacts go have this procedure done! You will not regret it! Whats a little pain when you can have 20/20 vision once more?! Pros: Skilled, Polite, caring, wonderful communication skills, Nice atmosphere Cons: Pricey(but then again aren't all LASIK surgeries pricey?) Nothing else! more

Best place for lasik in S.F. 5/18/2007

I?ve been toying with the idea of having LASIK for the past 3 years. My sister had it done last year at the Pacific Vision Institute and was very happy with the result. I read everything I could find on the web about LASIK, and Dr. Faktorovich consistently came up as the top choice. Finally, I asked my eye doctor, and he recommended Pacific Vision as well.\r \r I had Lasik there 1.5 month ago and my vision is AWESOME! I was very nearsighted and had astigmatism. Without my glasses I was toast. Now I?m amazed at the level of detail I see. I never saw it all in my glasses.\r \r The staff are very knowlegible and friendly. Even the girls at the front desk (BTW: all very cute) can answer majority of questions you might have. The doctor is very experienced and definitely knows her stuff. She made me feel completely at ease and it all made sense when she explained it.\r \r The surgery was very quick. It is BLADELESS! One of the things that were scaring me before was the use of a blade to make a flap. These people have been using a laser to do that part for a number of years now. In fact, all their equipment is top notch. When you go into their testing and procedure rooms it?s like something out of sci-fi movie.\r \r During procedure I had no pain of any sort. I felt a little pressure on my eyes at one point, but that only lasted a few seconds. When I got off the table I could already tell that the surgery worked. That night I went to the movies with friends and I could see everything!\r \r Thank you Dr. Faktorovich, you ROCK! My new eagle eyes are incredible! Pros: Everything in this place is top notch Cons: Cost corresponds to the quality of service... :) more
