As a part of my American Home Shield warranty package, Fairway Plumbing sent a rude, muddy-booted technician to inspect my plumbing issue. He looked at the problem, and quickly concluded: "They gonna deny this." Why did he immediately blurt out that my AHS home warranty claim would be denied? I think it is because that was the technician's goal from the very beginning - find some way to deny the claim, and collect the $60 service fee. Never did I feel like he was trying to help me. I felt liked I just got shaken down for $60 by a shadowy agent for American Home Shield. If you encounter Fairway as a part of the AHS claim process, it might be very hard to avoid them. I would suggest canceling the service request, re-filing a claim, and hope you get another plumber assigned to your claim on the second go-around. However, if you have the choice of plumbing professionals, choose someone else. I will conclude by telling you that right after the rude Fairway technician left, I called another plumber. He did the job for - drum roll please - $1400 less than what Fairway quoted me.
