I ordered a sculpted cake for a baby shower, since that is what the mom-to-be had her heart set on and picked it up as agreed the day of. The cake was just what we had asked for, but it looked like the fondant was coming off. We asked the representative if she could fix it; she did the best she could, and it still looked presentable so we took the cake to the party. We live about 15 minutes away, and the cake began falling apart (which interestingly enough I saw that is was strawberry cake, when I specifically ordered strawberry filling). It was collapsing on itself. I called Frosted Bakery (even though they were closed) to tell them what was happening and the unfriendly young lady paused, put me on hold for a lengthy period of time, then told me to bring it in. When we arrived (after closing hours) the young man at the door refused to open the door, even though I was holding the cake. I asked him to please open that they are expecting me, and he just shook his head. I finally had to yell and say please just open, and he did slowly with an attitude. I placed the cake on the counter, but by then it had fallen apart. A woman who appears to be a baker there was very apologetic, and said it clearly didnt have enough support. She called the owner-Nuance- to see about a refund and in the meantime offered us strawberry cupcakes (which turned out to be strawberry banana-Surprise! the mom-to-be hates banana) since the cake we ordered was strawberry. Nuance (owner) finally returned the call and approved a full refund. It really was a shame. The cake design was great; too bad it was not made properly, and dealing with the staff (aside from the sincere baker) is a hassle not worth anyone's time.
