Flame Furnace Company Heating & Cooling had installed my generator, which I didn't even realize until they came to service it! We are on the gold plan, which I really like because you can call them for anything and they'll come out for you. Recently, they checked out my fireplace and discovered a leak, so I just had them shut it off for me. Also, Flame Furnace Company offers energy seminars, which I found to be very helpful. I had an energy test done to my house and found some issues I could easily fix or have them fix for me. I really appreciate them because I can depend on them. They are not just off the wall people, these are trustworthy professionals you can let into your home. They'll do all types of stuff for you. I highly recommend them! more

My furnace was starting to shut down, so I called Flame Furnace Company Heating & Cooling and I spoke to Donna, their receptionist who sets up the appointments. She's really great! I asked for our technician, Doug, who had installed and maintained our furnace, and who we know is really good and a terrific person. Unfortunately, he wasn't available, but she was able to set me up with their serviceman Mark P. He arrived within two hours, which was nice because I didn't have to go days without heat during the cold weather. Mark P. was very courteous. He was thorough with his examination and then he took the time to explain everything to me in layman's terms so I could understand what was going on. It turned out that some leaves from outside had gotten sucked into the exhaust of my furnace and had started shutting down from that. He recommended a nice service plan that Flame provides and offered to go ahead and do a total furnace inspection for me. Honestly, I wasn't looking forward to the service appointment. I was even apprehensive knowing how these things can be, and especially with a new technician. But this turned out to be a really nice experience. The entire company is wonderful. From Donna to their technicians Doug and Mark P., but I'm sure that everyone else that works there meets those excellent customer service standards as well. I have had the same heating and cooling company for 40 years. I had them out to my house 3 times because I thought I could smell carbon monoxide somewhere. They assured me 3 times that there were no leaks anywhere, and that I was safe. I thought I was going a little crazy, but I could still smell it! So I gave Glenn Haege a call because it was getting so bad, and asked him who he would recommend I have come out. He mentioned Flame and many of the wonderful services they offer. So I called Flame the next day and they were fantastic. Rob Johnson and Ed Irvine were the two gentlemen that came out, and they found that my hot water heater was improperly vented, and my furnace was pulling CO2 infested air from around the water heater into my ducts and throughout my house. They also found out some other issues I may need fixed as well. I have never seen such high-tech equipment used, in any other companys brochure or visits to my home. These 2 gentlemen were great. We were impressed about how tech savvy these two men were. Everything they did and found, struck me to make sure I mentioned them. I felt abridged to call my original company back and warn them of what they missed 3 times, and how that could possibly be a hazard to someone in their future! I will be calling Flame again very soon to have my ducts cleaned and to purchase a back-up generator for my home. more

Steven and James did a beautiful install! 21 Years ago Flame installed my furnace. It lasted 21 years with zero problems. That is why I called Flame again this time, because they never had to come out once in 21 years. Chad was a wonderful salesman, and the service tech Brandon who came to inspect the old furnace, found my issue right away. They were both very informative. From Brandon all the way down to my beautiful installation. It was a very positive experience. I am Very Very Satisfied. Despite the fact the weather has changed, the furnace keeps the house right at a steady temp with my programmable thermostat. It is also extremely quiet and working perfectly. Keep up the good work FLAME! Ill be gone another 21 years from now but I know Flame Furnace wont be. more

My A/C went out in the middle of summer. More so it was in the middle of "hot" week. I called FLAME and not only did they have someone out that day they also were able fix the problem for under $150. Service man was polite and very clean. Was not afraid of him entering my home. By evening I had a cooler home again and the humidity gone. Very professional from A to Z. Highly recommend. more

I had an old furnace, it was the original furnace for the house, and I had Flame Furnace Company Heating & Cooling check it out every year before winter. The young man came in to clean it this year and came up to me with the bad news. He explained that I needed a new one, and his explanation was so nice and kind. The way he broke the news was very nice, and so we went ahead and called the office to schedule an appointment with a salesman. The original young man was very helpful. In our talk I found out that his father had also worked for Flame, and that I had specifically called for his dad to come and look at the furnace before because he was so nice. Everyone who had come to look at furnace from Flame is very professional. It wasn't long after that that the salesman made the appointment with me and came out. He was very helpful, and not pushy at all. He gave me the facts about the new furnace and was very nice. On the day for the furnace to be put in the technicians came on time. They were right there, very professional, and got right to work. The two technicians were really wonderful; I was very impressed. I also wanted a humidifier added to the furnace, and asked the salesman for the same technician since he already knew the furnace from installing it. He was very nice, accommodating, and did a good job. I had the furnace inspected by our inspector here in Grosse Pointe Woods, and as soon as he saw Flame Furnace's name he had very good words to say about the company. Everyone who sees their sign, including a company looking at my brickwork and a window company, have great things to say about Flame Furnace. They have a great reputation. They are highly regarded. I have had a wonderful experience with Flame Furnace. When I had the old furnace and they would service it, they were always accommodating and nice. Even the people I get when I call the office are very nice. I was kind of skeptical about replacing the furnace, because I didn't know what I would get, but the whole process was smooth. I love the furnace, and the house is warm. I would certainly recommend them highly. more

I we first used Flame Furnace Company to replace the original furnace in our house about 15 years ago. At that time, we signed up for their twice a year maintenance program, and they have been coming out to perform maintenance twice a year ever since. I called Flame one morning in a panic. The pipe from my condensate pump in the air conditionere had broken and water was leaking right into the furnace. This was causing a short in the computer board and in turn was trying to light the furnace. The girl spoke to was so helpful and sent a technician out asap. We ended up having to replace the whole furnace. The new furnace is wonderful, and from the first phone call that day to the last phone call for the 6 month inspection has been nothing but great. I have had Flame Furnace Company maintain my air conditioner and furnace, clean my air ducts, and replace my air conditioner and furnace. I am also on the gold plan where they come twice a year to check the air conditioner and furnace for performance, fix anything needed, and change filters. The technicians from Flame Furnace are always prompt, and they call ahead of time to let you know when they will arrive. Their service technicians are always presentable; they always wear uniforms. When they come inside they use surgical booties so that they don't track anything. When they are gone you would never know they were there. more

I have been using Flame Furnace since 1979. I am a residential builder, and I use them for all my new construction. There have been some exceptions, because of customer preference, but I would say that in those 30 years they have done 95% of my new construction. In terms of their service calls, I have used them in my own home when I have had trouble. I also have a commercial service contract with Flame for service twice a year in a commercial building. A different contractor had done the instillation in the building, but they didn't do a good job. Flame Furnace came, did some internal diagnosis, and fixed the problem.
