Eye supply of bayside has good workmanship in general, I had a few pair of progressive glasses done at their store without problems at all. But I'd like to WARN insured customers to review their coverage before entering in any verbal discussion with any one at the bell blvd store. If possible bring a hard copy of the insurance coverage and go over item by item with them as you get your bill crafted. By doing this I guaranty you will save the disappointing of paying for items that you are covered for, like: frames, no line bifocal ,progressive lenses (wide or narrow), examinations, glass treatment (anti-glare, tint, etc). I was presented with a balance after what mi insurance covered of $200. Went home pissed-off and downloaded a copy of the coverage and the bill was reduced to $50. more

I highly recommend this store to anyone looking for new glasses or contacts. The staff is very courteous and helpful. They always take time to let you try on glasses and answer all of your questions without rushing you. This is tough because the store can get crowded especially on Saturday, yet they manage to help everyone. I have been coming here for about 8 years and it's always positive. Their prices are reasonable and they offer state up to date frames and art features for your glasses. I love the fact that I can call with questions or return to the store with any follow-up needs. I just purchased a new pair of glasses and to my surprise they were ready in the same 7week that I went in to purchase them. more

I've been going to Eye Supply for years. Everyone there is so friendly and helpful. I have horrible eyesight and I'm a difficult fit for both glasses and contacts. The staff at Eye Supply has never had a problem fitting me. I am very pleased with the service and friendliness of all the employees. And they have a great selection of glasses! I WAS RECOMENDED TO EYESUPPLY BY A FRIEND BECAUSE MY GLASSES HAD BROKEN & I WAS DESPERATE TO GET HELP FAST. I WENT IN LATE ONE DAY, BEFORE THEY WERE GONIG TO CLOSE & THANKFULLY THEY TOOK ME IN. THEY WERE SO HELPFUL! EVERYONE WAS KNOWLEDEGABLE AND SO WILLING TO HELP ME! I WAS EXAMINED FOR CONTACTS & GLASSES. I QUICKLY PICKED A GREAT PAIR OF GLASSES THAT WERE LIGHT WEIGHT & STRONG. THEY WERE EVEN ABLE TO HAVE THEM THE NEXT DAY! THEY LOOKED AMAZING & WERE SO COMFORTABLE! I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THERE SPEED & PROFESSIONALISM & HIGHLY ENCOURAGE ANYONE TO GO TO THEM! Absolutely THE WORST place for getting contacts and glasses in New York! The salespeople are extremely rude and unprofessional. This business truly gives Bell Boulevard and Bayside a bad rap. Many times they could not properly conduct an eye exam, and have messed up my prescription on more than one occasion. They also have no clue when it comes to properly billing medical insurance. I seriously doubt the legality of their license (and practice), and the proper training of their staff (or where the hell they hired these people). These people are scam artists and this place needs to be shut down permanently. more

Absolutely Horrible!! Gave me the wrong prescription for contacts and billed the insurance company for frames. more

These guys are professional, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable about any type of eyewear (glasses and contacts). The doctor on staff is also extremely knowledgeable. There was absolutely no waiting time (although there were at least 4-5 other customers there before me), the employees moved quickly and efficiently to make certain that all of my needs were met satisfactorily. Great place, HIGHLY recommend for eye checkups. more

I had been going there for 10 plus years with a very good impression of the place, I even posted a 5 star review, that is until my recent contact order where a misplaced credit ended up with me not being charged the balance (50%) due upon delivery, I couldn't recall and thought nothing of it, figuring if I did owe something I would always square with them either on my next order (I buy a 3 month supply) or whenever, I got a call from them which just about accused me of taking part in an armed robbery, the rudeness when I was not at fault!, I couldn't believe how I was treated, from now on I will take my business elsewhere, someplace where they don't berate the customers over mistakes they make, good riddance Pros: Very helpful and professional Cons: none that I can think of more

This is a GVS store that jacks up their prices in order to stay in business. I came in with my UFT voucher and although they did deduct the required amounts off the total bill, I still paid $300 out of pocket. It wasn't until 3 months later that I was in the rockville center mall that I saw my same glasses for about $100 dollars less that what I paid for. I think it's a shame that businesses have to raise prices in order to stay competitive when taking insurance plans. I don't blame them, I just think it would be nice for them to tell me the ""what's up"". more
