I have been a client for at least 5 years and previously have had no issues with them except for the wait time in the waiting room and being transferred from room to room during the exam. more

Everyone was polite, friendly and helpful. The exam by the tech was through and proficient. Dr. Wachter was both warm and professional. The wait-time was average or even a bit below average. This place was my only choice for my insurance, and it was a good choice--which was a good thing! My only issue was that it required repeated phone calls from my insurance company and their intervention with Eye Associates to get me an appointment with less than a two month wait- which I found unacceptable. If not for that, they would have gotten the 5 stars. more

If you call and can not get through to a human in a decent time. You know my review is for real. I waited a long time on phone for appointment. They scheduled me a two month later appoint. I feel they are too busy to give the care that u need. I Had my glasses come in a week late. I now am trying to get my eyeglasses repaired and use the warranty i purchased. But am back to square one on trying to get hold of someone on the phone. Goood luck on your business with them. But i am taking mine else where. I have given them two years of my business to no correction. more

About a year ago I had an appointment at Eye Associates of Pinellas. When I arrived I filled out the customary forms and informed them who my eye car carrier was. They left me sitting in the waiting room for an hour and a half not giving me any reason for the delay. When I was finally called up the informed me that they do not except my insurance carrier and that I would have to pay out of pocket for their services. I was furious and left. more

I scheduled a consultation for Lasik at Pinellas Eye Associates and paid $198 out of pocket for the consultation. Once there, I waited 30 minutes past my scheduled time just to be taken in the back waiting room. Once in to see the eye doctor he had an emergency and left me waiting for about another 30 minutes. The consultation went well and he concluded by stating he would give me a call and let me know when he could get me into the surgery center to do an Epi-Lasik procedure. Instead, one of the attendants called me about four days later and informed me that the doctor would not be able to do my surgery and that I would need to find somewhere else to go for this procedure. They didn't have another doctor. I asked for an explanation and was not really given one - just that it had nothing to do with me personally. more

On March 26, 2009, I had taken my husband to this place for his eye exam, which our 1 year old son tagged along w/ us as well. It was wonderful in the beginning, the reps greeted us immediately, the atmosphere was beautiful, and the people were very nice, outgoing, and friendly. The medical assistant called my husband in, and greeted all of us w/ the best smile I have ever seen on anyone and made me smile too. She made our son, as well as us, feel very welcome while my husband had the exam taken. She had no problem keeping up w/ her procedure and making us feel like family instead of just patients and / or guests. If anything, she brought more enthusiasm into the scene. Her persona is the majority of the reason for the positive feedback. It all went down after we were called in by Lori Hassinger, O.D. almost immediately I sensed a negative vibe from her, she only looked at my husband and did not even acknowledge me or our son, if anything, she seemed displeased of my presence. I tried to break the intense ice by greeting her first but only received the ""Hi' back like as if she felt obligated to. When we went into the exam room, my son started to get obnoxious, and she quickly told me to leave the room before she stated it was a concern for the neighborly disturbance. I did not dispute the demand, afterall, my son was pretty loud, but the negative vibe I received since the beginning w/ this professional only made the situation more uncomfortable for me. Ms. Hassinger's personality was not very striking, in fact, we received the impression of a complete snob. If I would've had the same attitude from Lori Hassinger that I received from the med. assistant, ( I wish, for the life of me, I could remember her name ), Eye Associates of Pinellas would've had more of a satisfactory rating from us and possible future business. I was utterly humiliated, my husband was very displeased, and the scenario caused a big fight between me and my husband which was the first fight we have had in over a year!!! The only thing left to say is that my husband is due for another appointment 2 weeks from now, my husband is going to make sure he is going to see a different doctor on the list and I WILL NOT go in as much as my husband prefers me to be there w/ him. Obviously, I don't perceive negative vibes from everybody.. if Lori Hassinger was the only one I perceived negative vibes from in there, than it's not just me. I would highly recommend this place. Our px were awesome and my fellow associates were too. Why because WE CARE!! I'm now in Cali. and trying to find a staff to belong to and finding it so.... hard. I so miss everyone and all of our doctors. EYE ASSOCIATES YOU WERE THE BEST . Thanks Dr. Wachter for giving me the chance to learn so much more.
