Had a bad experience with another local provider and was skeptical of trying a second but other options are slim here in Colfax. From the first sales call to the performance, I very happy. They have an office right here and a great guy named Matt (gave me his cell number!) who can answer about any question. I am getting the maximum speeds and am paying way less than I was going to have to for satellite for slower speeds and overage charges for watching netflx. I called once to why my speeds were slow and took about two minutes to get someone on the phone. They told me to unplug my wireless router and that fixed it. He did tell me that they are making upgrades now and I would see service drop after midnight on a couple of nights over the next month but that soon, I could get notified of these drops if signed up for for notices on their site or facebook or something. Haven't seen it yet but their trying! I saw they sponsored the Railroad Days event here too so nice to see some of my money going back to the community. So far.... I recommend these guys highly. Ahhh, the high speed feels so good! more

Well to start, I live in Chicago Park. I have a direct LOS (line of sight) to the tower in Colfax. I was told Id be averaging 8 megs per sec. Well that lasted about 2 days. Now my internet more often than not craps out at the slightest bad weather, or just randomly even on nice days. I average 1 or less meg per sec. I have repeatedly called and called and called about fixing my internet when It goes down but never get a call back. As I write this my internet currently peaks out every 5 seconds. Makes watching movies or online streams impossible. Overall I have yet to be impressed by this internet service. more

Super internet service and caring people 12/29/2009

Just moved to Squaw Valley and needed fast internet fast. Neighbors had Exwire and recommended it highly. Everything went smoothly from first contact with sales team to Installation to a nice follow-up call I got. Their installation technician fixed a PC problem I had while he was here which was the thing that really thrilled me and the service has been flawless since installed in October. Thankfully someone cares enough to provide good service in these small towns. They also do fix computers. Pros: Great Customer Service the way it used to be. Fast Internet. Cons: had to wait a week to get it more

Horrible Service and Customer Support 12/17/2009

Words cannot explain how frustrated I am with Exwire. Horrible download speeds. Nothing close to what I signed up for. I was completely ignored by customer support (never returned my calls or emails.) Had to track them down just to get lame excuses. Save yourself headache and go with Satellite internet. Stay away from small town wireless providers. I should have taken the advice of others who told me to steer clear of this horrible company. PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD! Cons: poor download speeds, high latency, poor customer support more

Awful Service 4/11/2007

Slow, Expensive, Clueless Repair Guys, and Rude on the phone. This is coming from a nice person who generally is happy with most things! I thought I would do the right thing and use the ""local guys"". What a mistake. these guys make SBC and the Cable company look like saints. My business depended on their services, and I have been put thru the ringer so many times it is killing me. They are regularly down for weeks at a time. That was bad, but then they randomly change their service ""IP Address"". I don't know what this meant, but my business was unreachable for two weeks, their tech did not know how to fix it. I had to hire another company to fix their problems!!! It took the other guy 15 minutes to diagnose and fix, He said this was common problem with this company. This was the last straw. Cons: Most expensive, least reliable more
