Several years ago I purchased a futon from Expressions and I had a good experience. Recently, I returned to the store to purchase a new futon mattress and cover. After seleting a mattress, I searching through their in-stock cover inventory and found one that I was unsure about but thought I would take home to see how the color looked in the room. The salesperson was aware of my hesistation. After bringing the cover home, I decided against it. I never took the product out of the package and less than one week later, I drove the cover back to the store, with the receipt and requested a refund. I was told that as many items in the store are special order their are no returns. I explained that this item was purchased off the shelf and given that I had spent over $250 in the store and was a returning customer, I requested that they make an exception to this rigid policy that was not clearly explained at the time of purchase. The manager told me he would ask the owner and call me back in less than two days. After one week, I did not hear from him so I called the store again, and he told me that they would not allow the return. Bottom-line, with so many competitive stores around with better customer service, and more reasonable return policies, I won't be shopping there again.
