Excellence is a friendly local business with fantastic owners. They've surrounded themselves with a great array of trainers and they've always been helpful in guiding their clients towards a healthy lifestyle that works for any schedule. I work a full time job and perform with three different bands and the cats here have helped me in making dietary and fitness decisions that support this lifestyle. This gym is highly recommended. more

Not just a gym it i€™s a functional mobility/speed/strength playground! Great standard equipment plus creative: sleds, chains, bands, bars, bags, rope...I started with trainer Rod 8 months prior to finishing my 1st full Ironman. The combo of the two made all the difference! more

Excellent Trainers, Facilities and RESULTS 3/15/2009

I have been working out with Quinton for the past five months and have noticed major results. He is the most dedicated and hands on trainer I have ever worked with. He is always pre-planned with a new work out for the day and he is with you through each set to make sure it is done correctly. That is how all the trainers at Excellent Training are. They are all in tune with their clients and always have a smile on their faces. Part of personal training is being comfortable in the actual setting and connecting with your trainer. There are not one million people around watching you. For me I tend to have the place all to myself. I would give this place and team the highest ratings and recommendation. Pros: Best Trainers in the area, never crowded, true results, Cons: What are the drawbacks? more

Quentin the miracle worker 3/9/2009

I was hesitant at first to commit to a work out program. I was never a fan of the competitive,meat-market vibe, of your average gym. What I encountered at Excellence Health and fitness was such a pleasant surprise! The gym itself is so comfortable and approachable, regardless of whatever your fitness level is. I worked with Quentin West, and I can honestly say I saw immediate results in muscle tone and my stamina. He considered what I felt my problem areas are, as well as types of exercise I actually enjoy. Quentin is an excellent motivator, and I was so impressed with his vast knowledge of nutrition and how the human body works! The trainers there are genuinely invested in your progress. I have referred so many friends and family and am really excited for the new classes that are about to start. I highly recommend any one who wants to change their body, or their general well being to get in there asap!! Pros: Great location, ample parking, wonderful staff, no waiting for equipment more

The Best! 3/8/2009

I had an extremely postive experience training with Quentin at Excellence. The facility has everything you need minus all the people traffic you find at conventional gyms. The locations is also great; plenty of parking. Quentin is by far the best trainer I have ever worked out with. He's patient, he listens and most importantly he kicks my butt and keeps me motivated! The hour long sessions absolutely fly by but by the end my arms and leg feel like jelly. He's professional, very informative and clearly knows what he's doing. I would definitely recommend Excellence and Quentin to wide range of people; from someone who's never worked out to someone training for a triathlon. He's the best! more

Great for first timers! 3/8/2009

To start with, Excellence is convienently located and parking is easy to find. Once you are there you get a friendly personalized sesion, and practically have the place to yourself. As one who hadn't habtually worked out before, I got the motivation and structure I needed in order to stick with it. The sessions are different everytime and I always walk out feeling my personal progress. I have always worked with Q and wouldn't have it any other way- he is easy to work with and makes it fun while pushing you to challenge yourself. I would recommend him no matter what your personal fitness goals are! more

A gym for all types of people! 3/8/2009

I've now been working with Quinton at Excellence Health and Fitness for 2 years now and I can't see finding a better gym environment or training professional anywhere. From day one he made me feel comfortable while pushing me to my physical limits. In the past, I had always tried to reach my personal fitness goals while working around my chronic back issues. It was easy to fall into a rut where the routines were stagnant and I knew at that point I needed a fresh perspective with a trainer who could jumpstart my regimen. Quinton immediately recognized what my back could and could not do and has since created custom training sessions that are always fresh and effective. I've lost 22 lbs since my first day and strengthened my core muscles to point where I have not needed steroidal shots for my acute back pain. Thank you Quinton and Excellence Health for providing a sanctuary for those of us who need more than just a quick sweat. You folks bring a passion and dedication to an aspect of life that is too often overlooked. Pros: great equipment, very few people, easy parking. Cons: could use more cardio equipment. more

Excellence Fitness is the place for Real Results 3/8/2009

Having the oppertunity to work with Quentin for the last few years have been productive and educational. He truely evaluiates your lifestyle and body type so you can get the best results. You leave every session looking forward to the next. He is a great motivator and also ejoyable to work with. Excellence Fitness has a great location and is extremly clean which I appreciate. Challenging Boot Camp 3/8/2009

I have had a chance to workout in the training studio and at the outdoor boot camps. The boot camp is a great way to be outside and do various agility drills, strength training, and speed work. It gets my heart-rate up, gets my body out of it's comfort level, and is far from the monotonous gym workouts. The trainers kept it fun and also pushed me hard in an up-lifting way. Everyone could work at his/her level while still getting pushed to work harder each drill, each time. Pros: Varied workouts, great people more

Most encouraging trainers 3/8/2009

I have never been more motivated and excited to workout since starting at Excellence Fitness. Quentin, Eli, and the entire staff has made me feel welcomed and strong since day one. I can tell that each person working out has an individualized excercise plan and nothing is routine-my body was pushed and pushed as I got stronger and I have felt impowered the whole way. I really enjoy the personal and comfortable setting. The combination of a great staff, quaint atmosphere, and ultimate workout, makes being shape so worth it. I've been training with Quentin for over a year and love my twice weekly routine. After training for four years at various gyms around downtown, I found Quentin's approach to strength building and incorporation of kickboxing the most physically rewarding and fun to do. My workouts are serious, but the vibe is always lighthearted and fun. What I love most about this gym is the relationship I have with my trainer without the corporate overhead feel of bigger gyms. Quentin is professional and experienced, but also a nice guy who is always flexible and willing to work with my schedule. And this is the best deal I've ever had on sessions! Excellence Fitness....The name says it all 3/5/2009

Where to even start... Over the years I have worked out with a variety of trainers at the big chain gyms and while they were ok, after awhile I felt the trainers had a lack of knowledge and it often left me frustrated. I started training with Q (Quentin West) in January of 2008 to get ready for my annual March trip to Vegas and here we are over a year later and I really cant imagine not working with him anymore. He consistently pushes me beyond my limits and I couldnt ask for anything more in a trainer. He switches things up all of the time. My workouts are always different which I find to be highly effective and it keeps me coming back. Boredom is something you will never find with him. He is attentive, motivating, consistent, and he continues to keep me on my toes and kick my a** 2-4 times a week. He has a wealth of knowledge and so much experience that I really can't say enough good things about him. You will have to see for yourself. You will not be disappointed and if you are I will pay for your session...LOL All of the other trainers are very friendly and engaging and it's nice to walk into a place and they all know your name and they take notice of your improvements and that feels good. Ok bottom line, get your butt in there and check them out!!!! You will be happy you did. Pros: atmosphere, parking, friendly faces,personalized training Cons: cant think of one more

I've never felt better 3/3/2009

I've been working with Elias for almost a year and have never felt better about my fitness level. Prior to having a trainer my workouts were boring, repetitive, and always lacking intensity. I didn't even realise how little benefit I was getting for all the time I put in. Now, I just show up and have a perfectly balanced workout waiting for me and I don't even have to think abou it. Elias takes care of everything. It is so much more efficient use of my time and you are professionally trained! I feel so much less prone to injury. A lot of the people I play sports with are always complaining about a sore shoulder or the ""threw their back out"". I feel like that is all totally avoidable now. I never have a sore back or limbs. My body can handle everything so much better. This is getting long but I wish I could keep going. Bottom line: if it is important to you to look good, feel strong, and increase your energy and stamina just pay the $$ and get a trainer. You'll never look back. more

Best personal training studio in Seattle! 2/5/2009

I started training with Byron almost 2 years ago at another personal training studio. I followed him to Excellence Health and Fitness even though it's farther away from my home because he is such an amazing trainer. I've seen tremendous improvement in my strength, flexibility, and most importantly, speed. (I'm a runner.) I love working out at Excellence! It has a warm, friendly atmosphere unlike bigger gyms. In addition, Elias creates fun events for clients such as the current weight loss and body composition challenge. All of these things help make Excellence a fun fitness community. I highly recommend Byron and Excellence Health and Fitness! Pros: knowledgeable trainers, convenient to freeways/downtown, music, friendly atmosphere more

Excellence at Excellence Fitness 2/4/2009

Elias has done a really nice job with the place and the trainers and staff are A+++. Quentin is an excellent trainer that pushes you hard and makes sure you get results. The music is great and they even let you plug your I pod in the stereo system to play your own tunes while you are doing your crunches or cardio. Get off your a$$, get ready for summer and sign up at Excellence Fitness. Pros: Trainers, Play your own music while working out, Has everything you need to get in shape. Excellence Fitness - Serious, Fun clients and Trainers 2/3/2009

The best thing about Excellence Fitness is the quality of the trainers and their clients. While I've been to other training studios and gym trainers, I have really enjoyed a level of true sincerity and love for what these trainers do (and what they expect of their clients), that you see it in every workout. My favorite workouts there have always been with 2 or 3 trainers and clients at the same time. While everyone is focused on their single training session, there is an encouraging energy that comes from everyone. I feel like everyone really wants to succeed and see results and wants it for you too. I've not seen that at other gyms. One other thing I love is the balanced focus on nutrition and health and body fitness. The focus is not just on getting more athletic, fit and toned/muscular through exercise - but also on nutrition and good life choices. You can't go wrong with Excellence Fitness! Oh -- and did I mention you never have to look for easy street parking so close to downtown Seattle? Yeah -- you'll never have that as an excuse for being late to your workout! more

Knowledge. Motivation. Great Environment. 2/1/2009

I have been training at Excellence Health and Fitness for about 6 months and have gotten the best results of any training I have ever done. The success is easily attributed to the dedication of the Excellence trainers. From my initial meeting with Elias, owner of the studio, his knowledge of fitness, physiology and nutrition was evident. As others have commented, the environment that he has created is fantastic. The studio is bright, clean, loaded with equipment and the people there are working out hard and having fun doing it. What I have found to be most refreshing about the studio is that Elias takes on a personal investment in my goals. It is extremely motivating to workout with a trainer that you know really wants you to succeed. I always get a great workout and tons of attention to my overall health and wellness in the form of nutrition and healthy lifestyle advice. At each session it is apparent that attention has been given to ensure that my workout is an integral part of the progression to reach my goals and not just a generic routine. Best Personal Training Gym in Town with Most Amazing Trainers 1/29/2009

Having moved here a year ago from NY, I was convinced that all personal trainers were the same and more interested in their own agenda than the client, that is until I met Elias Roberts from Excellence Health and Fitness. Elias, from the start, was a breath of fresh air. Elias not only put together a program tailored to my specific goals, but also pushed me to reach beyond those goals and believe in myself enough to reach new heights - never would I have thought it possible to run a half marathon and now here I am having finished my first half and now working towards a full this summer. Elias also instills the same thoughtfullness in his gym and has made the environment fun and efficient, allowing one to get in and forget about the world outside for a while and leave fully pumped and ready to take on the world. World Class Trainers 1/27/2009

This is a very well put together boutique gym with all the essentials for an amazing workout. I've had the pleasure of training with Quentin whose creative core workouts have been tailored to my specific needs allowing me amazing results! I've never had the same workout twice and i leave the gym energized, refreshed and ready to take on the week! Elias opened this gym and has created a very welcoming atmosphere. They create comfort for first timers that may be intimidated by large gyms, but also have the tools needed to train elite athletes. The members are limited and there are typically only 1-4 other folks training at a time, which I find refreshing and allows me to stay focused. I highly recommend this gym and their qualified trainers! Pros: great trainers, nice location, welcoming atmosphere Cons: limited cardio machines (but you are here for the training, not paying to warm up:-) more
