Exact Auto tried to charge me $538 for a front brake job. Took it across the street and got it done for $200 less. They still charged me $67.63 for wasting their time even though they did nothing to the car. A complaint is filed to the BBB and I am disputing the charges with my credit card company. Very unethical practices. more

(I DID NOT want to rate this crappy place..but I was forced to give one star anyways.) We were referred by someone who knows Charlie Kovach. (who just so happens to be dating him and leaving false positive reviews on sites like this!) My inital call was answered by a bob or dan.The person on the phone mumbled the name when I asked who I was speaking to.(But it sounded like Mr.Kovach) I explained to the worker that we needed a quote and were referred by a friend. You could tell he was in a hurry. I explained that we recently tried to take our vechicle to a tire shop for an alignment, it but could not be done due to the wheel bearing being bad. I explained that we just replaced the Wheel bearing. Having to take it somewhere to be ""pressed"" on. He quoted us for parts and labor at $290.oo. He said to drop it off in the A.M. the following week. We did. My wife went in and signed papers. (After all its her truck.) We leftand went home. Later that evening we get a call from Charlie Kovach (the owner) and he tells us that the wheel bearing is fine. He will test drive the vechicle to see where the problem might be. He tells us he will call us back. We wait. We call 5 times; between 3:45 and 7 pm. Not a single person answers the phone. He keeps the vechile over night without any communication what so ever. I call Exact Car Care the next day asking the person on the phone whom am I speaking too? Charlie confirms that he is Charlie. (Not Mr.Kovach or the Owner) And when asked if he is the owner he gets an attitude and is like ""Whats up? Whose this."" I explain I have a couple of issues with him. He then replies ""Lets go!""..I was taken back. I tried to explain my problem and he talked over me. And says ""Heres what YOUR gonna do"" ""Your gonna pay me for the job that Ive done on your vechicle"" I confront him about being unprofessional about keeping the vechicle overnight without letting us know and he says ""Oh"" (like no big deal) We needed that vechicle for a trip to the hospital the next day. He explained that he replaced the wheel bearing that we initailly thought was the problem. I was mad. He and I both agreed on the phone the night before that if it did not need replaced then why bother. I then reminded him of our conversation. And he said he was only going to do the work we signed for. Now in my opinion; This is VERY unprofessional. He KNEW the problem and avoided fixing it. And wasted his time and our money fixing something that didnt need fixed. I told him not to repair the front wheel bearing. That we would ask someone else to do it. We are demanding a diagnosis report, a warranty, and our old part back.Ive filed with the BBB and a few other organizations to try and keep others from wasting their time and money. more

I wish I would have read these reviews before I went there. I have a very similar story about Exact. I paid a lot of money to them and I still have a problem. I am working with someone else now because if you go back for anything they will say you have another expensive issue and try to charge you again to just look at it rather than trying to make it right. I will never go there again! Don't take my word for it look them up in the better business bureau and do a compare of the complaints they have compared to other local businesses. I didn't check that first either. Don't fall for his fast talking either he will talk you in a circle knowing you not a mechanic. more

I went to Exact Car Care to get a heating problem fixed. The heater was not producing enough heat. I took the car in the morning. It had not even been looked at until mid afternoon. They called me, told me of the problem and that they had to order a part from the dealer. They gave me a quote of $360. I said fix it. It came in later that afternoon. Now they had to keep the car. The next day the car was completed by closing time. The technician said it was fixed. I paid the bill, which was $160 over verbal quote, $520. He explained to me why it was more. They replaced the coolant, thermostat and seal, serpentine belt, v belt, and housing. Being an idiot, I let it slide. This man is a talker. Couldn't get a work in edgewise. Drove the car home. The heater was producing warm air. I figured since it was very cold outside it would take awhile to warm up. The temperature gauge wasn't working; it never moved after driving the car for several miles. The heater never got warmer then lukewarm air. So needless to say it is not fixed. Took the car back in. Again the car sat until late afternoon. He claims he had customers. What was I? Now the car stays overnight again! The fourth day, the car was finished late in the afternoon. He stated the thermostat had a piece of metal stuck in it and that is why it wasn't working. He started to charge me for the service, I said no and complained. He also stated that the car put it in there. Doesn't make sense. I feel they put in a faulty part with the piece of metal already in it. Finally he said no charge after complaining long enough. Drove the car home. Still not fixed. Now I have no heat at all. They had the car a total of 4 days and did not fix my problem. I paid them $520 to make something worse. He claims there is another problem. Why didn't he state this in the beginning, but instead wants to gouge me for more money. That's how I feel about the service I got from this company. I would never take my car back there unless they fixed the problem at no charge. I would never recommend this company for the care of your car! They have unprofessional practices. I woudn't of even given a one star, but you had rate at least one star to post. more

I actually now live in FLA.. come into Canton thru summer; always have Exact go over my BMW.\r I will not let just any yahoo get under the hood of my baby. Exact actually improved mileage with tuneup cost half of what dealer charges. Even got a loaner so I didnt have to sit.\r Bought 4 tires last year with super mileage, less cost than most brands without superior mile reports. \r Thanks a bunch for your expertise.\r more

Exact is choice because of their dependability. I view auto repair as though it's surgery wanting skilled hands under my cars hood even though their hourly is economical at $60. Manufactor Warranty work can be done here saving a bunch especially on BMWs. \r Having all the up to date testing tools, problems are detected readily. Recently replaced all four tires having the longest wear range and warranty. more

I've taken my car to Exact for years, and they always have the work done in a timely fashion and a very reasonable price. I would reccommend this place to anyone for any kind of work needing done to their vehicles, no matter how big or how small the job may be! They always do a great job! more

Exact Automotive Services in Canton, Oh might be a fine place to get a battery change or a set of tires, I can't speak for that.
