Evo Restaurant & Bar

I went to Evo last night and had a great dining experience. I ordered Fried Calamari and Crabcakes with Seafood Chowder. Dinner was excellent and the waiter Matt was so friendly and fun. He made my dining experience a pleasure. Great personality. Hope he is there next time. The manager came by Genadi and he was on top of service and the full dining experience. My dinner was only $19.99 and a great value plus the ambiance was excellent. I was with a good friend and great atmosphere and he loved the food too. more

Food & Service Was Awesome! 2nd time eating with a prefix menu on the boardwalk and this time it was better than flames. Our waiter (Jeff I believe was soo great, efficient & friendly. The Food was awesome My boyfriend loved the lobster bisque as and MY Shrimp scampi was AWESOME! Biggest Shrimp I've had with scampi! more

We went there as several years ago, when they first opened, they were good. How things change! The service was beyond bad. They don't even clear the food off the table after you eat. If you want the waiter, you have to flag him down as otherwise he was not going to come take our order or check on us. The food was inedible. Probably the worst food I have ever had on the boardwalk. The fish is overcooked, the soup is tasteless slop. For dessert, we had something they called creme brule that I won't even try to guess what it was, but it was not creme brule! Labor Day, 9/3/07 around 2:00 PM\r I?m a local. My family took a walk on the boardwalk and decided to have something light for lunch. My wife and I dine at Evo about 10 times a year. For the last couples of times the foods were below average but nothing too much to be complained about. They really made us angry yesterday. There were 3 adults & 3 kids. To start it off, the hostess was really rude. She asked us if we wanted to be seated inside or outside. We told her ?inside.? She looked at us couples of times funny because we have kids with us. Everyone in my family agreed that we had an impression that she wanted us to sit outside because we have kids. NOT A FAMILY FRIENDLY RESTAURANT. There were maybe a couple inside the restaurant and a few people sit inside. The place looked dead. We ordered lunch. We waited for at lease 30 min for the foods to come out. They showered us everything at once. The soups and pizza were less than warm. The chicken sand was black and burnt. Fried calamaries were warm also. The service was OK. The bill: Fried Calamari: around $ 7.00, 2 Seafood Bisque Soup: $14.00, Sundried Tom. Pizza (small): $14.00, Chicken Sand. w/ fries $12.00, OPEN TABLE CHARGE $12.00, 20% TIPS (INCLUDED ON BILLFOR FOODS) $ 9.40- TOTAL I PAID $68.40 \r The thing they made me mad was the $12.00 open table charged. What can a 5 year old and a 6 year old eat? I don?t mind if they charged open table for six adult, but here they charged 3 adults, an 11 y-o and 2 kids for open table. This is ridiculous. I will make this quick and simple. I ordered the risotto with shrimp and my wife the grilled jumbo shrimp. The shrimp for both dishes was unbelievably tough. The atmosphere had much more effort than the attempt to live up to the menu. Service was so bad that we didn't even leave a tip. With my wife being a past waitress in her college days, it takes a lot for us not to leave a tip. Bypass the plaza and opt for a different choice. Pros: Sitting outside you have the beach and can people watch to your delight! Cons: Over-reaching menu. Food was very bland and seafood very tough. more

We went to the restaurant for lunch on a Saturday. Most of the patrons were seated outside. We chose to be seated inside so it was easy to get a table. The service was not prompt. It took the waiter too long to get our orders. The food was even worse. We ordered a burger and a crab cake. Both were so tasteless and unappetizing. It is also not a good place to bring the kids. The decor was all chic and fancy but the food was sooo depressing. Not worth the money and the time. We left very disappointed! Pure Garbage...A true boardwalk clip joint. Nice decor, everything else is below mediocre. Giving EVO credit for mediocrity would be an insult to truly mediocre establishments. Avoid it like the plague. more

Trump Plaza's restaurants do not have a good reputation so we were prepared for the worst when we made dinner reservations at EVO. The restaurant was very busy this evening and it took awhile for us to be seated. We shared a very blah and uninspiring Caesar salad. Our entrees of grilled salmon with garlic mashed potatoes and sauteed spinach was satisfactory though nothing special. more

This is basically a pizza shop disguised as a chic restaurant. This place is one of the absolute worst in Atlantic City. Looks beautiful, but beauty is only skin deep isn't it? It is absolutely the case here. The menu is nice, but nobody knows how to actually make the food that is on it. Absolutely horrible. Frozen food! The service is just as bad. I've had better service at dives. Typical Boardwalk Eastern European staff that don't give a damn about anything, but getting your money in their pocket and don't feel they should have to work for it at all. Drinks are weak and we had to wait at the bar with a party of six and spent well over $200 on booze and didn't get so much as a thank you. If you like food and like restaurants and bars, avoid this place like the plague. Pros: none, none, none Cons: Bad Food, Bad Service, Bad Everything more
