Penny Ordway, owner and healer extraordinaire, has wonderfully manifested her beautiful, earth-conscious, healing spa in the heart of Center City Philadelphia. I have received many types of treatments here: waxing, massage, facials, Maya abdominal massage, and Maya spiritual healing. All were positively transformational. I also love the beautiful, earth-friendly and gorgeous gift selection in the small, attractive boutique in the entrance foyer. Everything a woman could ever want is here! Worth every penny! I've been to Eviama several times, both for massages and facials. It's an unpretentious, relaxing place. I especially recommend the myofascial massage.I used to schedule spa visits when we stayed at hotels, but I don't anymore. No one does it better than Eviama! So i returnened again andhad the Cranio Sacral massage by the time it was over I was still waiting for it to begin. Months later I was desperate and called them again. New to the area I picked this dentist because they were close. Dr Ahn and the entire staff have been great. The cleanings and X-rays were pretty normal although in previous states the dentists wouldl take a panorama x-ray and this facility used all (old fashioned) bite wings. But, hey they work. My most recent work was a tooth that was crowned years ago but the tooth started bothering me. Dr Ahn removed the old crown and cavity. Usually when this happens a root canal is necessary but the Dr was able to remove the cavity without having to do a root canal.(boy was I happy) when I went get the final crown seated they took what I considered an extreme amount of time to make sure it was seated properly and I was comfortable with the bite. I don't know who the Dr Kwan is that other reviews reference but I'm guessing he is no longer there. I would recommend Dr Ahn and this practice to anyone. more

This was by far the worst dentist I have ever encountered. During my visit Kwon refused to respect my decision to decline medication. He repeatedly insisted that I allow him to numb my mouth before replacing a filling (a procedure I have had done many times before without medication). Kwon ignored my demands to refuse medication and numbed my face, I had a horrible reaction to the numbing agent and a complaint has been filed with the ADA and the State of Colorado. Kwon also suggested unnecessary dental work, discovered when I went elsewhere for a 2nd opinion. Pros: None Cons: Forcibly administered medication more

Made an appointment based on other reviews, and was a little skeptical after a bad experience elsewhere. The moment Penny looked at me, she knew why I was there and what I needed. I had a Reiki treatment along with a massage and eyebrow waxing. I've been to a lot of spas and salons in this city, but I've never walked out visibly looking like a new person. My confidence has been soaring, my face is blemish-free and in the best shape of my life, and I can't wait for my next appointment. I am new to the area and picked Bright Now because I see their sign on the way to work. I went in for a routine cleaning. I have never had any cavities. I got xrays, which were very simple, quick and painless (don't know what the other reviewer was talking about re: xrays). The cleaning was quick and the hygienist knowledgable and funny. My xrays showed that I MAY need my wisdom teeth out. When I went back for a surgical consultation, the surgeon took additional xrays that showed more of the roots of my teeth. The second set of xrays showed that I didn't need my wisdom teeth out. I'm glad that the original xrays and dentist (Justin Kwon) suggested I get a wisdom teeth consultation, and after my conversation with the surgeon, I have piece of mind that I will never need my wisdom teeth out. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Bright Now Dental. Pros: Great staff, nice, knowledgable dentists and great surgeons. Okay, "color therapy" sounds loopy and a litte weird, but it works! I have suffered for decades from seasonal affective disorder (SAD) that renders me a cranky arthritic shadow of myself by Thanksgiving. I usually "deal with it" through March. Hoping to ease some of the joint pain, I booked a custom herbal wrap. Penny also suggested the facial color mask, something I'd never heard of, and we added it to the wrap treatment. Ananda explained the principles of color and their physical effects during the treatment. Using the colors reflected in the rainbow, Ananda applied light to reflexive zones on my skin and I was able to feel a difference almost immediately. After the first peaceful night's sleep in weeks, I bounced out of bed the next morning as if it were the first day of spring! I've been back every week since for the color mask, and I recommend any one of Eviama's wonderful therapists. Today I had a facial for the second time at Eviama, this time with Penny. I really can't say enough good things. The products they use are just great... they feel good, smell delicious, not unbearably expensive if you decide to buy some for home use (which I did). I've had two facials there from two different practitioners and both were consistently of high quality. Penny sat and talked with me first, made me feel very comfortable, relaxed. The vibe in the entire place is very cool. I really can't wait to try some of the other treatments. I've been to several day spas in Philly for facials, massage, etc. and can honestly say that I've never left one feeling as satisfied, relaxed and "high" as I felt today when I walked out of Eviama. This snob-free but professional (read: capable) environment left me feeling relaxed just by stepping inside. Knowing that their hearts & minds are in the right place (fair-trade, environmentally friendly) is a breath of fresh air. The bikini waxing i recieved was thorough and expertley executed (minimally painfull) without the usual bikini waxing awkwardness*. Worth the time and money, pay a visit and you'll thank yourself immediately; i already plan on going back for my first facial. * note: the waxing service here out-did the one i encountered at body restorations. more
