Eversharp

After receiving a recommendation from a friend, I purchased a set of knives as a Christmas gift through their website. Unfortunately when I opened the box, there was one knife missing. I contacted them and they promptly responded that they would ship the missing knife out to me. When I opened the box, I was surprised to see they had sent me a free Wusthof kitchen timer with the missing knife. That is what I call excellent customer service. Just a ""Hey, I'm sorry. Here's your missing knife"" would have sufficed, but I was delighted that they were thoughtful enough to send me a free timer as an apology. I plan to do business with them again when my own kitchen knives need replacing! more

I went here with a S.O.G. knife, having called before showing up to see if they could sharpen the knife I had. I was told it would take about 15 minutes. I handed over the knife and let them do their thing. The guy sharpening it asked me if I could leave the knife there for a few hours, and I was ok with that. I came back later that day and paid for the knife. The people at the shop let me walk out of the store with the knife they sharpened. The mistake I made was not inspecting the work they did. When I got home, I inspected the knife, and the guy who sharpened it had cut away approximately 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch of material off of the knife. It had been ""sharpened"" so poorly, I could easily see the various grind marks and different angles he used to butcher this knife that just needed to be sharpened. To rub it in, the knife had a serrated edge that was looking ok, but from the point the straight edge started, there was an upwards curve of where he started to dig into the metal with his new found sharpening technique. I get people make mistakes. I get people have bad days. I get that people have accidents. What I don't get is when a quality person who is supposed to be good at what they do, doesn't do their job. If you don't remember what I previously said, the people at the store let me walk out of the store with the knife. It took me calling them, to have them fix the problem. They did fix it by giving me a new knife, which I am ok with. The part I am still not ok with is when the person I handed the butchered knife to said they will let his guy work on it again to see if it could be fixed. He asked me to wait two days, which I did. I don't know much about sharpening knives, so maybe they had some ""special"" technique that was going to fix the problem. That wasn't the case. I could have appreciated if he had told me at the time he saw the knife that they made a mistake and will get it replaced. That was not the case. At the end of the day, I am sure they sell an ok product, and they probably do ok with sharpening some knives. If you are reading this and still go in to have your knives worked on, consider inspecting everything they touch to make sure you are getting what you payed for. Before you leave the store. more

I just can't say enough about the friendly, helpful staff, EXCELLENT service, and overall great experience! I am a seamstress/costume maker and this is my busiest week of the year. When both pair of my sewing shears quit cutting effectively I thought I was going to have to spend the $$$ on new ones because the other places I called said they needed two weeks to do the job that Eversharp did in under 10 minutes. I'$ so thankful I found them, they saved the day! more

Wonderful shop. Sharpened my Global and Shun knifes while I waited. They are very knowledgeable have good deals on knifes too! It was fun watching Joe sharpen my knives too. I would recommend this service to anyone who uses knives. I will be back soon. It is great to have such a shop in Minneapolis. more

I found their web site through google shopping while looking for an 8pc Henckels Twin cuisine Knife set. I have searched every store in town and on the web and It is impossible to find the set for less than $359.00! When I found the knives for $269 with free shipping on their web site I thought something was wrong.Since I live in TX and cannot just stop by their store, I searched the Better business and online reviews to see if the company is legit and was not able to find very much information. The only thing I could find out is they apparently do a good job sharpening knives. I called the number on the site and spoke to someone on the phone to make sure that I was ordering what I wanted. I was nervous that it would be a refurbished or used set. I decided to roll the dice and order the set on Friday. On Tuesday I logged in to see the order still pending and my cc had not been charged. I called to find out they shipted on Monday. It arrived at my door on Thursday. The knives are in the factory box. I closely inspected each knife to make sure that nothing is wrong with them. The only critique is I would have liked to gotten a tracking code for the shipping but since it was free I cant complain. My sister was waiting to make sure that everything went well for me before she ordered. more

Having moved to the TC only a few months ago, I have been trying to find some of the basic services that you don't need that often and when you do need them, they can be hard to find. I came across a review for Eversharp and decided to find them. Well, Eversharp is by far the BEST knifesharpening service I have ever used. EVERYONE who works there is friendly, courteous, informative, helpful, you name it. I have never been so pleased. They sharpened 8 steak knives, a pair of kitchen scissors, and 7 knives for me. It came to $39, which also included the repair of a bent tip on one of the steak knives. (I know, I know but I needed a screwdriver but didn't have one.) They sharpened them while I waited. Took all of 15 minutes. Eversharp also has a great selection of new and refurbished Wusthof knives. I broke down and bought a santoku knife but it was a super deal at $75 on sale (usually $95) and it came with a bamboo cutting board. I also bought a large Epicurean cutting board for only $15 and got an oak cutting board free since I spent a total - including sharpening - of more than $125 (I spent $145). So I could not have been happier. If you have knives (or garden tools as they do those too) that need sharpening, if you are a person that likes to cook and want some great kitchen knives, cutting boards, etc. for a great price and if you like fantastic customer service then check out Eversharp. I really liked the guy sharpening the knives. but they moved & I had a hard time finding them. Pros: Fast & good sharpening Cons: I wish they were open later a few nights a week more
