I contracted to fix my wet basement. I have no doubt that EVERDRY did a good job (but no better than other companies I'm sure). However, I have had time to think about the way their representative conducted his sales pitch and I must say I am not pleased with some of the tactics.\r

Showing me a figure of around 9,900.00 and offering to drop it down to around 8,500.00 under the condition that I sign on to be a standby customer (for a three month period) is just wrong. I feel that using this tactic; Everdry puts the consumer in a position to have to make a choice right away ? preventing them from being able to look at the competition. Furthermore, they tell the consumer that this price will not be honored and the standby offer given to someone else if the choice is not made before the representative leaves that day. I feel that this is a sneaky tactic to prevent people from talking to the competition and if Everdry does such great work, it is unnecessary ? it only makes them look like they have to dupe their customers into working with them.\r

Their representative proceeded to tell me that the materials will be cut right away and held until the work begins and that I am financially responsible for those materials - another sneaky way to keep the consumer from talking to the competition, insuring them the sale.\r

Also, the sales representative told me that the financing was 90 days same as cash ? however, after the financing went through, it ended up being 90 days deferred and the interest was accumulating immediately. I plainly asked him if it was definitely 90 days same as cash (because I had the money, I just wanted to float it for 90 days to let it collect some interest before paying off the financing) he confirmed that it was 90 days same as cash. I called Everdry after finding out it was not 90 days same as cash ? they offered to send me a check for the interest that had accumulated. It's been months and needless to say she has not sent me the check.
Pros: Did work like most other waterproofing companies
Cons: Dishonest - Unethical sales tactics
