It's so worth it! I am recently single and have met so many great people who are now friends. I have met a few great guys too! Don't believe the hype, it only works if you use it ...

Worst

Its nice to have planned events, but how much are you willing to spend. You buy a membership and here are the Rates 1 yr ~$1500 plus monthly dues at $30, 3yr ~$3000 plus $30 per ...

huge scam 12/23/2010

E & A costs $1,995 a year plus $30 a month, and there is no getting out of it. After 2 weeks and 5 events I realized this club is not for me but they will not let me cancel my membership and they are charging me for a full year. more

DO NOT BUY INTO THIS PLACE!! IT IS A SCAM 11/1/2010

I was looking for a way to meet people and i called events and adventures. i really wasnt trying to sign a contract but they called and called and called me. so i went to the houston location. she nearly forced me to sign the contract that would be around 2000 dollars. so i went to a few of the events and i was supprised that i still had to pay for the events even though im giving this organization 100 dollars a month. so i try to get out of the contract but there is no way they would let me and almost 2 years later i theyve taken about 4000 from me. so now im going to get a loan to pay them off so that i dont have to deal with them anymore. i have read that if you stand outside of there business with a sign warning people whats going on they may revoke your contract but i dont have the time to do that. so ill warn people here THIS PLACE IS A SCAM!! DONT DO IT!! more

RUN don't walk away from this place!!!!! 10/22/2010

First of all, i was a member of this club for 6 months. I am still paying. I refuse to put my real name on this review because I have friends that have written bad reviews and were contacted by the owner. He reads this board, and has his staff write fake reviews. This place is a scam, check the BBB. They charge you around $2000 for the opportunity to meet people. You are better off using meetup for FREE! You then PAY for the events which is no cheaper than what you and a group of your friends would pay, and thats it. The people are meh, the events are fun, but not worth $2000. Average age of the people who join is mid to late 40's and it is definately NOT for someone in their 20's or 30's. Any place that does NOT tell you the pricing over the phone is a bait and switch, they wait until you are in front of them to try and gulit you into paying, and the people that work there work on commission. The reason I know this is because I had a friend that worked at the one in Seattle that told me later on. I think its a good idea in theory, but seriously $2000 to meet people.... RUN away from this organization and their FAKE reviews. more

Stephanie's Events & Adventures Review 7/24/2010

The last thing I needed after my boyfriend suddenly announced ?it?s me, not you? was to get back into the dating scene. I still can?t tell you what made me give Events & Adventures a try, but whatever I was thinking that day really paid off. I went into it telling myself I?d give it thirty days. I knew, of course, I wouldn?t meet the man of my dreams in a month, or at least, even if I did, I knew I probably wouldn?t know so soon, but I did go into it with the goal of not letting the break up keep me down. I figured if I wasn?t home to answer the phone, then I wouldn?t appear to be pining away for some jerk who broke up with me on Facebook with the typical excuses (remember ? ?it?s not you, it?s me?). And too, if I?m being completely honest, I hesitated and even thought of cancelling that first event. I?m so glad I didn?t, though. I have met some of the best people in the world. The crazy thing is they ?get? me?just like a best friend gets us. Only problem was, my best friend is married and has triplets who are less than a year old. These guys have proven to me that there?s so much more to life. I can?t believe I actually went on a trip without having someone go with me! I knew I?d have a blast with the group. I feel so worldly now! All I can say is give Events & Adventures thirty days. I am sure you?ll come to the same conclusions I did. more

DJ's Events & Adventures Review of New Year's Eve party 7/14/2010

" New Year?s Eve this year was the best ever! I could not have asked for a better New Year?s Eve party! The folks at Events & Adventures made it special and the turnout was impressive. There were a lot of people in attendance. The gambling was great and so was the food, the entertainment and the decorations. The club that was served as the host facility was just right for our crowd, which, by the way is a blast to be with It was truly a special night that I will not soon forget. Events & Adventures is unmatched in this industry (and believe me ? I?d know!) and the staff simply doesn?t get any better. The formula works for anyone wishing to break out of their predictable lives. I?m pretty sure this will be a new year?s that will be impossible to top! I?m looking forward to trying, though. I?m looking forward to going with the Events & Adventures group this summer on at least a few of the trips. more

Ed's Events & Adventures Review of Belize 7/14/2010

I?m still recovering from this trip we took to Belize! I have to say, until the Belize trip, I wasn?t sure exactly what I could write that would stand out, now, though, I have enough to tell anyone considering Events & Adventures that would fill a book. The vacation was awesome! The other members and I had an absolute blast. There was so much to do ? more than any of us could have even managed in two months! The options Events & Adventures offered was many and I think I speak for the whole group when I say our biggest problem was trying to decide which ones to take advantage of. Seriously, each morning, we were greeted by a message from the folks at Events & Adventures, review the events slated for the day, have breakfast and then from there, it was a whirlwind adventure! Kudos to the team! more

Don't join. 6/5/2010

I joined this group in the fall of last year after having a rather horrible break up with my ex. I had hopes of meeting new people near to my age, since I tend to have a relatively lonely profession. This was one of the biggest, and dumbest mistakes that I've ever made. The people were nice, and the events were fun. That's not really where my problem occurred. I could overlook the fact that the majority of people were not in their mid to late twenties, as I was told, but older. I could ignore the fact that I was paying an outrageous amount monthly, which I was told would cover 80% of my events, but in truth did not cover anything. I could even brush aside all of the extra fees and costs I was initially told did not exist. What I can not, and will not, turn a blind eye to is that I was not ONCE told that I only had three days to cancel. I was pretty much blatantly lied to and lead around. I was unfortunate enough to not realize my mistake until I had already been in the group for about a month. I decided I wanted to cancel and was told that I couldn't. Cons: shady, scam, tons of fees, money waste more

READ BEFORE JOINING!! It's a SCAM! 2/15/2010

I just heard an ad for this on the radio and my co-worker was telling me she was interested in joining so I decided to google "reviews of events and adventures". This sounds like a lot of fun but if you look into it, it's obviously a scam. I found out that it costs $1,600 per year, plus $25/month with a 1 year minimum commitment. You also have to pay additional fees for each event-- even if it's just watching a movie at a clubhouse!! WHY?!? Where does this money go! Before you join, there is a "screening" process where you have to go to a interview with one of the employees. This meeting is basically a high-pressure sales pitch where they ask you personal questions then do a fake "background check" and then tell you that you are fit for the group. You have 72 hours to cancel when you join--- by LETTER- they dont tell you this. If you have taken a psychology class or know anything about sales, you'll know that people are more likely to agree to something when you meet with them in person, rather than over the phone, hence the "in person interview". Cons: scam, costs thousands, pay for events on top of your dues more

They're Screwing ME!! 1/31/2010

I paid $100 and signed up back in May. They said I had 24 hrs to cancel my membership. I called the next day to cancel cuz I was leaving the country the next week and I tried to get my initial $100 refunded but they wouldn't give it to me in time (what a surprise!) so I had to leave. Now I come back 6 months later and I find a letter from them claiming $300 for having no association with them whatsoever and a threat to contact collections. These guys owe me $100! WTF is going on. I need some advice here. Think the Better Business Bureau will help. I want My $100 back right NOW!! Pros: None Cons: All of them more

Looking for new friends?? This is the place to find 'em 10/9/2009

I joined Events and Adventures a few months ago and have had a blast ever since! I was initially a little unsure of the idea of buying a membership to go out and have fun but in the long run it has been money well spent. I?ve enjoyed a multitude of different outings and have made a lot of new friends along the way. There is a wide variety of events to choose from and more events in one month than I can even attend so it keep me busy in my spare time! I?ve suggested it to a few friends and took them as guests to a few events and naturally they had a great time as well and 2 of them also became members. It?s nice making new friends but it?s even better when you can mix both your current and new friends together. I noticed a few of the negative remarks about Events and Adventures and I have to say I disagree, these people probably didn?t give it a fair chance. It is a little odd in the beginning but once you let your guard down and start talking to people, it?s impossible not to have a good time. Pros: tons of events to choose from Cons: not enough time to attend everything :) more

Advice: Don't Join. 9/26/2009

I thought E&A would answer my social needs. It DID NOT. Pros: none Cons: too pricey, high sales tactics, unethical organization more

Scam 9/25/2009

Be careful with this company. I saw their ad on the internet so I typed in my information. They called me and the guy said "We'll set up an appointment for you to come to our 'clubhouse' and meet a group member." I had no idea about the cost, so I said "Does it cost anything?" and he said yes, but that's never an issue. So I went in for my meeting, which is actually an interview, and the lady talked to me forever and I could tell it was a scam. So she showed me the price, (it's over $1,000 for a year) and I acted hesitant. The catch is that if you go home to think about it, and want to come back at a different date, it will cost you $300 more. So they are trying to pressure you into signing right then. So I signed because they said I had 24 hours to revoke my subscription. Well, I revoked it by sending an email, and it has been about three weeks, and they still haven't refunded my credit card. If this place was all that and more, they would not have to do the "sign now and save $300 or wait till tomorrow and lose the $300." No legitimate offer that is worth the money would do that. Plus, it does not need to take a month to refund someone's credit card. Pros: nothing Cons: scam more

Unless you are over 30.....and looking for someone over 40.....forget this scam. They take your money and misrepresent. 1/3/2009

I was led to believe that there were people. in the 23-30 age group that attended these events. NOT SO! The front office person (name withheld) gave the impression that this was a good place for a 22 year old to associate, and that I could get a pro-rated refund if I did not enjoy the activities. I like to have FUN! But....not with my Dad's friends. more
