Folks. This is a scam. Check out the BBB complaints & rating before signing up. Don't believe fake glowing reviews which are all written in similar language/phrasing. Read the reviews! If you signed up, read the cancellation terms carefully. I believe you must send a certified letter within 72 hours of signing your contract. Calls will not do the trick. Do NOT believe anything you are told by the sales reps. This is a predatory business. more

I joined a few months ago and I'm having a blast! Tons of cool people and activities every day of the week. I could literally do something every day with this group if I wanted to. Yes it's expensive, but I was so tired of sitting at home and letting life go by. Now I have plans all the time and I've met some great friends! I would recommend E & A to anyone. Give it a chance you'll love it!! more

Events and Adventures has me spoiled rotten. They have something going on every day and the other members are cool and laid back. If I had to go back to making my own plans every time I wanted to go out and do something I don't think I would get out half as much. They are the best! more

I went out to the Sushi Mingle at Soma on Washington last night and I had a blast with all the members! E&A had gotten Soma to extend their happy hour for us which just made it that much more fun! :) The company was great and good conversation all around. If you are new to town (like I am) this is a great place to meet awesome people while doing cool things! more

I love camping but not by myself! Love the camping trips/river floats. I have odd days off so when I'm off on a Tuesday or Wednesday there are a bunch of people I can still hang out with. I don't have to setup an evite 4 weeks out just to get 6 people to play volleyball. E&A plays every week! more

I originally joined E&A on a one year membership then renewed with a lifetime. It has been wonderful for me. Like many shy people, I just won't go/do by myself. With E&A, I'm always with a group of friends. Now I feel confident to try new things from a new eatery to a new zip line place. E&A is all about meeting people while not a dating/hookup group. That way you make a lot of new friends both male and female without all of those dating pressures. Even better, E&A folks are warm and open. You'll meet a lot of really cool people. Will you meet that special someone? Can't say, but I can tell you about those that did! more

I've been a member of this club for 3 years and last year around this time, renewed my membership to ""lifetime"" status because I enjoy it so much. I've met some amazing friends through this club and have seen several of those friends get married to someone they met in the club. I currently live with my boyfriend of 1 year, who I met through this club when I was hosting an event. more

Its nice to have planned events, but how much are you willing to spend. You buy a membership and here are the Rates 1 yr ~$1500 plus monthly dues at $30, 3yr ~$3000 plus $30 per month dues, lifetime $4200 with no monthly dues. Once you sign up you have 3 days to cancel or you are stuck paying them. They do not make this clear when you go to sign up. Also they do not make it clear you have to pay monthly dues for the 1yr and 3yr memberships which increase the membership costs by $360 per year. Pros: null Cons: null more

Not What It's Cracked Up To Be! 8/16/2011

Yes, it is over-priced. What you may want to know though is......there are equal and even better offerings from other organized social clubs in town that are not as costly. There has been a change in Event Coordinators and I was hopeful there would be some different events. It seems to be a repeat of the same events and venues. They tend to be game nights/events at the club house, games in the park, hikes, happy hours with the occasional sports and arts events. The male to female ratio is anywhere from 1 male to 3 females or more. Great for the guys! The 40 plus crowd that they will lead you to believe is in equal proportion to all other age groups is not. The male to female ratio becomes even more disparate in this age group. The sales girl used the term "professional" ad nausuem in her sale pitch. You may want them to expound more on their definition of "professional" to see if it aligns with your definition. I joined after moving to Houston last year to meet people and I had tried many other social venues before joining. This has been a very disappointing venture. I felt with the price I was paying I would meet people with similar interests. There have been a few; however, I've met more people in other organized social clubs (HSS, BCO, etc.) that were professionals and had similar interests. more

I am serious about this and looking online I think we have enough complaints to pull this off. I am looking to start a class action law suit against this Events and Adventures organization...if any have been mistreated, misled, email me at smt372@gmail.com with your name, a brief of what happened and whether or not you have hard evidence, emails, returned letters, any documentation on the poor treatment they send out. You want your money back? I know I do. I am fired up they are getting $4k of my hard earned dollars...anyway...I need to create a list of plaintiffs before I can procede with any action. BEST DECISION I EVER MADE! 4/26/2011

It's so worth it! I am recently single and have met so many great people who are now friends. I have met a few great guys too! Don't believe the hype, it only works if you use it and go out to meetings/events and it is well worth the money. I don't meet random creepy guys at a bar or even at the grocery store, lets face it we all know what they are looking for. This has given me a safe environment to meet new people. Like they say, everyone goes through the same screening process and its well worth it. I couldn't have made a better decision. more

I was very excited about joining, however, I will really have to think this over. What's that saying about more negatives than positives?\r It is unfortunately, true. DON'T SIGN UP 2/9/2011

I joined Events and Adventures and paid the fee for the membership. After about a month I didn't feel like this was the type of thing for me. Most of the people that joined were much older and i didn't feel like i was getting anywhere. i could be doing better on my own. So i tried to cancel my membershitp and they said that they would buts that i still had to pay the remaining balance. I was upset and asked them why would i have to pay for a service that i did not want. They said i signed a contract and asked for a copy of my contract. The contract was misleading and i felt stupid for not asking more questions. So know that if this "membership" ends up not being up to your satisfaction, then you are stuck with that balance. I think it is a bad practice and i should not have to pay thousands of dallas for a service i do not use or that they provide. more

Real member review of Events and Adventures... someone who made it past the interview, was accepted and attends events about twice monthly and sometimes more frequent.\r \r My name is Edward and I have been reading all kinds of reviews about www.EventsandAdventures.com and most of them are from people who never got past the initial interview. Myself, I did join and am happy to report I love it. Now, things might be different if I could not afford it, was not accepted, or got engaged after I joined and wanted out of my contract but none of these things actually apply to the club or the company...those would be my issues, right? \r So, please all of you dummies complaining who never became a member - there is probably a reason why you are 1) not a member of Events and Adventures and more importantly 2) single. \r Nobody, and I mean nobody, likes an adult who can take responsibility for their own actions. Reviews by people who have never been a member of Events and Adventures are absolutely unfair. How can someone without experience tell you what goes on in a members only club? Fortunately, I am an active member and can share my experiences with you. Of course, I am speaking only for myself and my membership at www.eventsandadventures.com - I can not attest to that of yours or any other members but I can offer you a lot more information than wannabes who never made the cut or are mad because they can't afford to join. \r \r First, the enrollment process.\r If you are a mature adult you can easily handle this situation by simply forming the word 'No' and politely getting up and leaving.
