Great selection. Appointment time? One hour!!! I was still waiting to try on the dresses I'd pulled when Brianna (sweet girl) told me she needed to ""clean the room"" for her next appointment! I didn't realize appointment times are only one hour and I was very surprised when she told me that most brides find their dress in that amount of time. Wow. I tried on seven dresses in just over an hour; two of those I'd pulled, and I would probably have chosen between them if I'd had a chance to try on the others I'd pulled. Brianna told me I could stay until her appointment showed but the spell was broken and I felt like a nuisance instead of a princess. I wish I'd known we were on such a tight time schedule -- I wouldn't have bothered with the ones that were completely out of my comfort zone. I had a pretty good idea of what I was looking for -- as reflected in the several photos I'd brought with -- and if I'd known about the time restrictions would have preferred to stick to that program. Their picks were pretty but completely off of my radar, and widened the field instead of helping me to narrow it down. I'm on a tight time schedule -- just over six months to go -- and I really wanted to buy my dress today. They have a great selection so if you have a good idea of shape/style, this is the place to go. If you completely have no idea of what you're looking for, you might want to narrow it down at another salon or give yourself enough time to book multiple appointments at Eva's. I was able to book a two hour appointment for next week, but the bloom is sort of off the rose the abrupt unpleasantness at the end really cast a pallor on the experience. I'll look elsewhere over the weekend and will ultimately only return if I absolutely must just because the experience left me cold. I had high expectations and was ultimately left feeling bad. Let's put it this way. If a hairstylist you'd never met before told you she was going to make your hair dreams come true, then kicked you out of the salon with foils still in because your appointment ran too long and she needed the chair for the next customer, you probably wouldn't go back to her. Even if she promised she'd take them out next appointment. more

Horrible experience. They are only nice to you to get you to buy a dress. Once they have you, forget it. Worst ever. I am not a picky person, but this experience was really bad. I am a professional and these people are not. The owner is not pleasant at all. Not the way we do business in America. I hope the future brides will reconsider before dropping their money at Eva?s in Oak Lawn. I had a tearful experience and do not wish that upon anybody. My friends had the same experience so please be aware of this place. more

You would think since I got married in 1988 and got Terrible service and was treated horribly that Eva's would've changed! NOPE!! more

I've heard so many horror stories about Eva's Bridals I no longer refer brides there anymore. In truth, all brdal stores mark gowns up between 100 and 200% depending on their location, the wholesale cost of the gown and the commisions paid to sales people. And not every store had properly trained professionals that know the meaning of customer service. If you're a bride on a budget, I recommend a couple of websites: lightinthebox. and romanticgowns Working with a professional seamstress or tailor you can order a gown on line for half the price and work with your seamstress for fittings. Their return policy is flawless as long as you've done NO alterations. Save time, money and aggrivation. more

Brides, DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!! As the fiance of a bride to be who made the unfortunate decision to shop at Eva's Bridal of Oak Lawn, I can tell you that this dump has some of the worst customer service I haver ever witnessed. My fiance was in tears after two visits to Eva's and unfortunately the most recent was after picking up her gown which was not at all like the sample she had tried on. Even though she had pictures showing how different the gown was that she tried on and ordered, they insisted that she ""remembered wrong"" and were not only unhelpful, but outright mean making disgusted faces at her and actual making snide comments about her to the other sales staff while she was in the dressing room. The old store that burned down was a dump and their new temporary store has a $10 Wal-Mart plastic mirror taped to the wall, what a great and classy setting for a woman to try on a gown that likely cost thousands of dollars. I could not say enough bad things about my fiance's experience here which also became my experience having to deal with the aftermath. Even if you get a slightly better price here, believe me, it is not worth it. more

I purhcased my gown at Eva's in Oak Lawn and had my last fitting on Thursay night for my wedding November 1. I enjoyed every minute of my experience, from finding the gown to the pricing to my alterations and all in all great service. This store is great. They wouldn't be there for over 40 years, and be so busy, if any of these bad reviews were true and written by real brides. more

I went to this place thinking that i would be taken care of and that they were a really nice family owned business. I was told that they would work with me if anything ever happened. I purchased my dress and when they called and told me that it was in i informed them that my wedding had been cancelled and that i would be able to pay off the remaining balance in January. I called today to make my final payment (which was agreed on and said to be ok). This is how i found out about the fire in November. When they called me back i was told that i went to see them in October and told them everything would be paid for by November 15th (I never went to the store excpet when i bought the dress in March because i live in INDIANA) I was told that she could not refund my money or reorder my dress because it was outside of the 30 day time frame in which my wedding was supposed to happen. I was also told that i was being insulting because i told her ""you got my 1200 and i won't be getting my dress"". Never go to this place. They won't be helping you and are very rude. more

I had a great experience with this store. Kina was very patient and helpful. I purchased my bridal gown from the outlet at 50% off, but she serviced me as if I purchased a $10,000. I've shopped in a lot of bridal stores, but have not felt as good as I have at Eva's bridal in Oaklawn. I made the comment to the manager and she thanked me and hugged me ""for making her day"". Real ""old fashion service"" if you asked me...it's good to know it still exists. more

When I started looking for my dress, I first went to House of Brides. TERRIBLE SERVICE! Then my mom and I went to David's Bridals. The dresses were cheaply made. So based on recommendations, I went to Eva's with my MOH and a bridesmaid. We had a BLAST! Noreen was wonderful and really listened to what I wanted. She wouldn't even let me try on gowns that were close to being over my budget (which I really appreciated). She stayed with us the entire time and was honest about how things looked. I ended up finding my dream dress there and at a price I could afford! They were even understanding with their ""first time buyers"" discount and still gave it to me even though I bought the dress 2 days later. (My mom had wanted to be there when I bought it). We went back this past Sunday and bought the bridesmaids dresses. We had Noreen again and even though the place was buzzing with a trunk show, she stuck with us as best she could! Again, she was open and honest and diswayed us from things that would end up costing the bridesmaids more in the long run. Her attention to detail, friendly demeanor, and honesty are what helps make Eva's a great place! All the my bridesmaids agree that Eva's is the best. We can't wait until the dresses come in! more

I had a more than pleasant experience at Eva's Bridal in Oak Lawn January 2009. I called for an appointment for the Maggie Sottero trunk show but they were booked solid from Fri - Mon with no appointments open. Luckily the attentive receptionist heard disappointment in my voice so suggested I come a day early when the dresses arrived. I showed up on time and my consultant Cindy was ready to help. She asked for my budget and not 'how much do you plan on spending' like some bloggers claim. There is a reason for this....to keep you under budget, and not bring you a dress you may love and cannot afford. I tried on numerous dresses and appreciate the honesty when I was told a dress just didn't look right on me. This was my first time looking, I had no intentions of making a purchase but found 'The Dress.' It was what I described wearing to them when I walked in. Eva's ability to listen was the reason they found my dress. I didn't even like the dress when they brought it in and didn't want to try it on. My consultant Cindy then reminded me - 'this is exactly what you described to me you envisioned wearing when I asked you what you like.' She was right so I tried it on and didn't want to take it off. Never was I pressured for a purchase or told the price is one night only. They gave me time and space to make my decision since this was the 1st time looking. Everyone was more than patient, pleasant and helpful. I returned after the trunk show on Monday to show family my purchase since I went to look solo. Since I put down a deposit, they held the dress for me and didn't send it with the others from the trunk show. My consultant was off but Rania (store manager) was there. Not only did Rania remember me but also remember what dress I purchased and quickly went to retrieve it for me. A BIG Thank You to both Cindy and Rania for what I thought would be a stressful experience, relaxed and calm. I will definitely refer all to you both!! more

This shop has a beautiful assortment of dresses at reasonable prices. The staff was extremely nice. They stayed after hours cheerfully and went out of their way to make our shopping experience special. more

I was so impressed with this shop mainly because I felt Jan and Mary Ann were so professional and they seemed to care about me as a bride. I would recommend this shop to everyone. They were so personable. more

I went into Eva's Bridal on a Sunday afternoon. My fiance and I were just in the area and saw the dresses in the window. We went inside and made an appointment and within 10 minutes someone was helping us. I loved the dresses and after trying on 2 dresses i found the perfect one. Although some of the displays were not in great shape (zippers busted, lace torn etc) i was very pleased with the pricing. So in the next week or so, i will be purchasing a wedding gown from them. I would also like to thank Cindy for being such a great help. I recommend Eva's to anyone. more

This was only supposed to be the first of many dress shopping trips. I had my mom and one of the bridesmaids with me. I brought in pages from magazines of the dresses that I liked. I was happy to find that they had several of them in the store and I was able to try them on. In addition, Irene, my consultant, found many other dresses that were similar to what i had picked out. more

I went to Eva's bridals after searching for so many dresses, and knowing exactly what I wanted. I knew exactly what I wanted, but of course wanted to see if there was anything else. that's just me. I knew that I did want my original dress, and they provided me with the better price. They were so sweet with me helping me out with every step. They also explained to me about the measurements and followed up with me about it the next day. She then said congrats and gave me a hug, and I came back again a month later just to follow up and she was very nice as well. more

The first bridal salon I went to tried to ""talk me into believing that the gown I tried on was ""THE DRESS"". I was still unsure and felt very pressured. Then I went to Eva's for my second appointment. Kasia was my sales attendant and was so helpful. I had looked online at so many dresses and one of them was the one she had me try on. It was perfect! There was no pressure on her part and she advised me of the best type of dresses according to my figure. She is the BEST! I will definitely be back with my bridesmaids for their dresses also. more

I have never felt as good as I felt shopping for my gown. The consultant was wonderful and knowledgeable, the selection was uncomparable, and the service was great. I purchase my gown in September, had me fitting in November and my wedding was last Sunday. As busy as they are, they still offer you the old fashioned service. You know what to expect and when to expect it. Everything is marked on your receipt. I have never seen so many beautiful gowns and I have shopped everywhere. Thank you Evas and all our staff. Selection of dresses is good. My mom and I went in with a price range, which we went over (of course), but it was worth it. I went in and said what I was looking for, and Mary Anne picked dresses based on what I told her I liked and on my shape. The ones she picked were better than the ones my mom and I picked, and I ended up with one of the ones Mary Anne picked. She has a great eye for it, and she was great to work with. I'm very happy with my dress! more
