Evangeline's Costume Mansion

Don't waste your money on the parking, it is not worth it. They suck you in because they have tons of costumes but they are so disorganized that you will not get what you want and if you do you will pay dearly for it. I wasted two hours on this place. First hour I found my items and they nicely held them for me. The second hour was spent while they wandered aimlessly looking through the store for the items they so called "held". They could not come up with it and also said they are unable to order it for me. They said "I'm sorry" and that is what I got for my trouble. There goes my Halloween costume. Guess it is back to HalloweenExpress.com for me. more

This place is amazing. Every time I visit Sacramento, I have to go to this place. They have every kind of costume you can imagine, as well as everything you need to go with it. The prices range from low to high, depending on what you're looking for. The staff is friendly and helpful. This place is a treasure! more

Evangelines is one of my favorite stops in Old Sacramento. Their prices range from about a dollar for things like buttons or postcards, to high priced costumes. They have so many different things in there, lots of unique items, novelty gifts, "risque" stuff. They even have a little hidden "adults only" area. It's a really fun shop and a must see in Old Sac. more

Evangeline's is the BEST place to get a costume, hands down. The prices range from very cheap to very expensive depending on the uniqueness and the quality of the merchandise. I've never gone there and not been able to find pieces of my costume, no matter how obscure I thought my costume would be. The staff memebers are really helpful, but watch out because this place gets REALLY crowded the closer you get to Halloween. more

No matter what you've decided that you're going to be for Halloween, you're going to find it here. The rooms are all divided by theme, which helps you to find things even quicker. And, it's a lot of fun to play around. They do have dressing rooms, but expect a little bit of a wait for them on the weekends. The best selection of wigs in town! more

First and foremost, this place is HUGE. They have the largest costume shop I have ever seen anywhere. The first three floors are dedicated to nothing but costume supplies and accessories. Though the first floor also shares space with a lot of tourist-trap items, there are still plenty of things to help a costume along. The next two floors are dedicated to nothing but costumes, and each room in the mansion has a particular theme. For Halloween shopping, you don't need to go anywhere else. Selection is ridiculously large, and supplies are good, not like those Halloween Superstores that sell out after two weeks. Only drawback is that they are seasonal, which means they are awful for theater and plays that don't get produced near Halloween. more

They have a wide variety of costumes. They are open all year long. They also have wigs of all shapes, colors and sizes. Their parking spaces are limited. The staff is friendly and helpful. The price can vary depending on what you are renting. You can find 50's clothes, 70's, Halloween costumes and much more. more
