Best

At the original location, the decor is not trendy - the focus here is on one thing: the baked goods. Yes, there are other items on the menu, such as the famous egg salad, but m...

The food is really good and the macarones are amazing but the price is high and the service is poor. They forgot our food and were not very friendly in the process. For paying t...

Quite good but overpriced 8/26/2003

This is Pasadena, not the West Side. We're used to getting real value. Euro Pane is excellent, but not a great value. Pros: Best bakery in Pasade more

The Lemon Bars are da bomb! 10/15/2002

I have to admit that l liked EuroPane better when it was a smaller, and more quaint little bakery. The wait service seems a little snobbish now - I don't see how anyone can be snobbish selling baked goods! However, I still go for the nummy lemon bars. The chocolate custard tart is a little dense - but the flavor reminds me of old fashioned cocoa powder. Pros: variety Cons: some attitude more

Lemon Bars! 9/14/2002

I'm not even a huge lemon bar fan, but these are absolutely delicious! I am eager to return and try different items. more

French Bakery To Go 7/26/2002

I recommend the pear slices on puff pastry or the Lemon bars with a fresh lemon taste, just the right amount of sweetness and soft enough to melt in your mouth on a nice cookie crust. The chocolate cake is a nice change, made with ground almonds (marzipan) so is on the dense side. Buy to GO, nicely wrapped in a box, unless you're just dropping in for a quick one and dressed in casual work clothes. Swift parking abilities required if parking on Colorado and the times I've been there were pan-handlers sitting on the sidewalk a few doors outside. more

The pastries are the best in LA 7/9/2002

The pastries are the best in LA-totally worth the price-lunch is great-I love the unsusual sandwhiches on fresh bread more

Wonderful danish & Coffee 6/28/2002

Unlike the local competitors to this location, Euro Pane has their breads and danish made fresh with their own ovens. No shrink wrapped Starbucks scones will be served here. The owner (Sumi) is a very nice, customercentric Korean/American. Truely a very genuine person. The coffee is also fresh and served with a smile. GREAT PLACE! more

Homemade bread & more... 6/20/2002

This restaurant is really a cute little bakery near Colorado & Lake. The food is excellent although the service has went downhill ever since they expanded. The homemade breads, especially the rosemary currant, are exceptional. When you order take-out they usually give you a cookie or a lemon bar with your order as a complimentary dessert. It's best to call ahead at lunch so you won't have to wait and I'd rather take the food to go back to my desk instead of sitting in the noise of the restaurant. more

High Prices, but worth every cent. 5/23/2002

Yes, this place is pretty pricey. But as the old saying goes, ""You get what you pay for"". This place has the BEST gourmet desserts around. Some of my suggestions are; Lemon Bar, Brioche, Bread Pudding, Pear Tart, and their Pecan Tart. Coffee here is pretty good, though I have had better. Service is really good, depending on who you get. Beware of the young brunette male that works that counter. He's kinda slow, and a bit rude. Everyone else are super friendly, and fast. The atmosphere is kinda cozy. Order your breakfast, a cup of coffee and get yourself a good book or morning paper, and you're set. Pros: Desserts, Ambience more

Wash down the fine bread with iced tea 5/20/2002

Whenever I walk down for an egg salad or turkey sandwich (on rosemary currant bread, with mayo), friends ask me to bring them back a lemon bar. The iced tea -- fruity, no sugar -- is always freshly brewed. more

Egg salad sandwich 5/20/2002

The egg salad sandwich and chicken salad sandwiches are great. The homemade breads, especially the rosemary currant referenced in earlier reviews, are exceptional. My only complaint is that they no longer give you one of their fabulous lemon bars as a complimentary dessert with lunch-- I got a subpar cookie the last time I visited. Call ahead at lunch to avoid the wait. Pros: Great bread Cons: Inconsistent service more

Yum Yum Yum 5/16/2002

Firstly, they have the best lemon bars on the planet. Secondly, they have an extremely delicious feta and red pepper sandwich on rosemary bread. Thirdly, they make some of thier bread in the shapes of animals. I love that. more

Best Bread 5/14/2002

Gotta try the rosemary-currant bread--yum! Good with turkey, egg salad, and any other of Euro Pane's top-notch sandwiches. Service can be a bit scattered, but the sweet treats that come complimentary with to-go sandwich orders almost make up for it. Pros: Tasty bread, Good sandwiches Cons: Inconsistent service more

Carb Heaven 5/14/2002

Has to be the best bread bakery around. The rosemary-currant is to die for. Sandwiches are hearty and fresh. pastries are unbelievable. Service can be slow, but whatever. They're bakers, not servers. more

Supreme egg salad 5/12/2002

You may pay a little more for a sandwich, but I challenge anyone to find a tastier egg salad sandwich in L.A. Hearty pieces of egg with sundried tomato spread on fresh-baked bread. Quite a treat. And be extra decadent with a lemon bar for dessert. Pros: egg salad Cons: a little pricey more
