Great store! 7/3/2010

The women at this store are truly friendly and talented!! They did our entire house and handled everything professionally and I am SO happy with the way our home turned out! After owning several homes and using many "design firms" I must say that Ethan Allen is a cut above! I will never shop anywhere else and my kids are fans mow as well! more

Excellent Service 11/15/2009

We just did our living room and dining room with one of the designers, it is georgous and we were treated very well. The custom draperies are amazing-a little pricey but worth it!!!! I highly reccomend - better valus than paying a designer by the hour- been there, done that! more

Love Ethan Allen 9/15/2009

Our experience at Ethan Allen was very good. My husband and I had them do our home in Orcus Island and we were extremely pleased. The designers listened to what we wanted and they stayed within our budget. The quality is top-notch and we found the service good as well. We have used other Interior Decorators and the costs ran wild and the furniture quality was all over the map. I recommend highly! more

Cute stuff but RUDE service! 2/24/2007

My husband I went into the Alderwood store to hope and furnish basically our entire house and when we came into the store we were greeted by a friendly face. So far, so good. We asked if we could just look around for now and began to browse for ideas. Not too long after going through only a third of the store, a saleslady came over and 'greeted us'. She gave us the once over and then cooly asked if we needed any help. We both smiled and said 'no, not at the moment' and then she had enough nerve to say 'okay, well I just thought I should let you know that the discount area is over there'! I, honestly, have never been so disrespected in my life! Neither my husband nor I thought that we would have to 'dress up' to go furniture shopping; and we shouldn't have! Just because we didn't drive up in a Lincoln Navigator doesn't mean we didn't have money to spend. I tried to brush off her comment and continued to look through the store until she approached us again to 'see how we were doing' (which we really were in the discount section then). I commented that we were having some trouble because I had to furnish an entire house and didn't know where to start. She asked me what budget I was working with in a snobby tone and I was so mad at this point that I decided to 'let her have it' without fully letting her know. I explained the truth, that I had about $40,000 I was planning on using, and watched her eyes sort of twitch with the news. After that, her attitude totally changed and we were suddenly 'worth' her time. Maybe she should have just treated us with unknowing respect from the beginning and I would have purchased the whole home from her but she didn't and so my husband and I decided to go to Pottery Barn and do it all through them. BUT, I will say that it is completely possible that I just got a rude salesperson because their furniture really is of good quality and they do have some very nice, albeit sometimes gaudy, designs. Hopefully, nobody else has to deal with my lady, though! more

Lukewarm on Ethan Allen 7/17/2006

I'm kind of hot and cold on Ethan Allen. I like the idea and their stuff, but they really wanted us to get a credit card and buy everything recommended on the spot. We used A. at Alderwood. She was fine, but maybe wasn't a very good listener. She missed the mark on my husband's "modern" TV room. She used the colors he wanted, but it turned out kind of country. Her recommendations for the living room were great so we bought most of that. I wish I could have talked to a couple different designers and chose the one that matched our taste. That would have helped. The sales people are the designers so the women that helped us was just the women that happened to be free when I went in on the weekend. After that I wanted to go in Thursdays and it was hard to get help since she didn't work Thursdays. The other sales people just kept saying they've have our salesperson call us when she was in the office. That was bad. My aunt had someone from EA come out that she loved. The women recommended paint colors and all kinds of things when she was at her house. It sounded like she was more of an interior decorator and was less worried about selling EA. more
