Extremely Rude - Treats Every Customer Like a Thief! 9/24/2015

Wow... Let me start off by saying I know this review is long but please take 2 minutes to give it a read. I am absolutely appalled by my experience today. This morning I decided to make the most of the end of summer sunshine and took my kiddos on a long walk into town for lunch and downtown shopping. I packed up my Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bag (a $160 bag) with everything we may need for the afternoon, loaded up 1 child in the stroller, and had the other kiddo in a carrier (a $140 organic Ergobaby, to be exact). When we walked into this shop, the lady behind the counter came over and asked if she could take my diaper bag and acted like she was doing me some great favor. I said no because not only does this bag contain my phone, wallet, loose cash, and everything important we may need for the day, but by this time it was hanging on the back of the stroller just so and it isn't easy to adjust. I clearly have my hands full and I had everything situated just right so I could maneuver through the small store with my family. She laughed at my response and said, "No?!" like how dare you question me. She then asked if I had ever been in the store before and seemed shocked when I answered yes. She again asked for my bag and said she would put it behind the counter. Umm, no! I don't know this lady. How do I know she isn't going to take the money I have stashed in a very convenient, openly accessible pocket?! I told her I'm not going to steal anything, I'm just trying to shop in her store. She said that this is their policy and it's not for "people like me" but it is their store policy and I had to leave. I went into that store to buy three bags of coffee, a hand painted coffee mug, a basket, and anything else that caught my eye. I was planning to spend over $80 but was treated like a criminal and forced to leave the store. I've never shoplifted anything - from anywhere - but I was denied the chance to even walk through this store and was treated like a thief. I am disgusted by the behavior of this organization. more

I love going in here. They have imported items in one half and thrift shop items in the other. I love both areas! It's so interesting to look at the imports. They have really beautiful and interesting items. The thrift items are typical. Store seems clean and presentable. The staff are usually friendly. They seem to be volunteers from a church. more

Great handmade gifts! 8/20/2005

A great little thrift store with lots of treasures if you’re into digging for them. My favorite part of the store is the half that has new items that are made under the fair trade concept. Workers in foreign countries are paid to make handicrafts and other items, and are fairly and legally compensated. There are some truly unique and awesome things in this section. Many items would make great gifts or souvenirs. more
