All We've Got 8/5/2009

How would you like to see a great film but sit in a tiny seat that cramps your hips and your elbows continuously rub against the next guy? Sometimes I come here when I'm in the mood for a real movie. Too bad it is so uncomfortable. Oh yeah, if you tell the management, not only do they not care, but they will mock or say something insulting. If you suggest an indie film, they will laugh at you as well. Instead, we rent indie films and watch them on my home projector. Tall and heavily muscular or fat people should never come here at all. They won't even fit. They may get injured if they sit or will wind up standing. Pros: nice indie films Cons: uncomfortably small seats too close together $ sticky floor more

Please show Leonard Cohen: I'm Your Man 7/6/2006

I love Esquire, but I'm saddened that they've run Thank You For Smoking for a few months now and haven't graced the Ludlow, Music loving crowd with the fine documentary ""Leonard Cohen: I'm Your Man"". Some have criticized the movie as a U2 vehicle, but c'mon, Cohen is the thinking man's bard of sublime musical poetry! Please Esquire, bring this Doc. to the public, at least for a week!!! My love for Esquire goes A Thousand Kisses Deep, but I'd be quite upset if they thumb their collective nose at a great music loving city and community in Cincinnati and Ludlow, respectively. Pros: Sometimes shows the movies that are "Arthouse", aka Good Cons: Sometimes fails at showing some of the best indie films available more

A Great Theatre 2/2/2006

The theatre is great for those who wish to view good quality movies. Those of us with a open minded soul who are not conservative as the city we find having Esquire to be grand. Being two NYC people used to many theatres it a pleasure to be able to get away from the ""The Levee""to view a movie . Keep showing a fine selections of movies as there are many liberal thinkers too. Pros: senior discount, quality movies more

Get over Goldman 9/18/2002

One ""schmuck"" amongst many in this city doesn't phase me. Cincinnati has a reputation of turning out intelligent people who don't stick around to endure this city's penchant for self-destruction. One place the hardcore dedicated Cincy dweller can turn to for some liberal sanity is Esquire Theatre. I lived in Europe for some time and have certainly experienced better environs, especially in Soho and Covent Garden in London. But this is the Midwest, not London, and I'll take any oppurtunity I can get in this city to soak up artistic endeavors on film. Other option: move to larger, more liberal city! more
