I had a wonderful experience at Esoterica Occult Goods during my long weekend getaway in N'awlins. First time visit, yet I felt like we had been friends for centuries. Mimi definitely knows how to match a scent to a person and making the customer feel like it was ""their"" choice. I don't know what I am going to do when I run out of my oil and lotion...hand made, quality products, and delicious scents. Honest sales...wanted more...I will definitely return. Not sure about the ""rest"" of the customers...didn't really pay attention to how they were treated, I only know my connection was there. more

I truly used to enjoy frequenting this unique store. Items were always artistically prepared to the point that you felt you were surrounded by ""eye candy"". There were some beautiful items I purchased and the sandalwood perfumes were attractively packaged and always blended well. I stopped referring tourists and close friends here because of the treatment I witnessed them receiving. At times people were literally encouraged to leave or if some one genuinely needed attention the owner of this store could get irate and ask them to leave. In the past when I would visit other Occult goods stores the owners can and will give sound advice on how items are used for manifestation and you usually know that we share secrets with these healers during out time of need. There is a professional code of ethics that one must follow with their clients and a client needs to feel safe and that their confidences will not be betrayed or shared with the general public. At this store this is not the case and I even purchased one beautiful item here made of silver that is one of my most favorite pieces. The owner shared something unkind about the maker of this piece that I like to wear and I feel if one is selling sacred items one should honor the artists and not share their personal opinions about the artist so unprofessionally. I can not refer this store anymore because too many people complained about the treatment they received while shopping here. The store in itself is beautiful and you will find unique and pleasing items but the environment is not your typical feel good new age haven. I've been a practitioner of the arts for a long time, I've been to MANY a witches closet and NONE of them has satisfied my needs quite like The Lady Mimi!!! It's been nearly six years since I've been to NOLA and I remember MY experiences there...( Especially at Esoterica, and the great advice she gave me! ) like it was YESTERDAY!... And to the persons that left the bad review...I'm sure that NOBODY ever PI*SED YOU OFF before...SORRY but that review was totally off the mark...and uncalled for!!! Another 2 satisfied witches in Alabama!!! LONG LIVE THE LADY MIMI!!! Gotta Love Her Y'all!!! Pros: Comprehensive collection of books, oils, and etherial materials that are hard to find anywhere else. I was so looking forward to my much aticipated visit to esoterica. Upon arriving, I was 'overlooked"" due to the on-going rant by Lady Mimi with what seemed to be a friend in the shop at the time. She was going on and on about how much she ""hated"" this person...no regard to my needs.\r I plan not to return to esoterica, I prefer to shop in a more positive, professional environment.
