Escape To Fitness

Needs a GREAT deal of work! The locker room --holes in dry wall each dressing room. Larger holes in drywall where it meets floor. Lockers are rusty and need fresh paint. As other reviewer said, wallpaper torn on walls. The pool doesn't look ""healthy"" all brown in interior. It's a shame its been let go so badly. Makes you feel wondering how healthy it is to swim in pool. more

I have belonged to this club for a couple of years now and I have always enjoyed it. Last year I had to stop going for a few months due to health reasons and have recently returned,what a difference! and not good. The locker room is a disgrace. Torn wallpaper,holes in the drywall,especially changing area and dust bunnies galore. The fact that this place has a beautiful pool, is all women, plenty of machines and a friendly clientele were always abig draw. If things don't turn around soon I will have to end my membership. more

Escape to Fitness is a ""diamond in the rough"". I joined just over a year ago and had to put my membership on hold for 3 months due to a death in the family. The manager had no problem doing so and actually talked with me for a while when I returned to see how I was feeling and expressed her heartfelt sympathies to me. more

Ok, so I ABSOLUTELY love this gym! I'm reading the reviews of some of these people and I'm in awe! The gym is not dirty. Sally is nothing near rude. And yes there is a contract...of course there is a contract! You signed it! I think its safe to assume that the women who are being so rude on here are the women that I'm glad aren't members. Don't let these women (I'm assuming New Bedford's finest) deter you from at least checking the gym out for yourself. You know that person in the grocery store who is beyond ignorant, yelling at her kids, walking around with her gut hanging out, smoking a cigarette while pregnant and shopping with your tax money...BE GRATEFUL THEY ARE NOT MEMBERS ANYMORE. Again, I'm just assuming that's who the authors are. THE ESCAPE TEAM HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT GREAT TO ME IN THE 11 YEARS I'VE BEEN A MEMBER. more

Escape to Fitnees is a great gym. Great atmosphere and even better employees. And just like any other contract in the world the only way to get tied up in one is TO NOT READ WHAT YOURE SIGNING. Like I said it is a great gym and should not be looked down upon for other peoples misunderstanding. And Sally is a sweetheart. more

i have been a member for over 15 years! this place is my second home.....great staff,great equiptment and awesome zumba.bootcamp, and kickboxing classes and the best thing about the club is there is no men!! more

I have paid my monthly dues and maintenance fees as required by my contract. I brought in a written request to cancel my contract per the agreement, and guess what they still charged my credit card despite the fact that I gave them 3 months notice. Also my credit card expired during the year, and I brought them a new credit card as soon as I received their request. Now they are claiming I didn't follow procedure and they charged me a $20 fee. It's only $20 but I am not paying for something that is not my fault. I have also dealt with this Sally person who is rude and actually hung up on me. This place is awful and I would not recommend it to anyone. STAY AWAY. They are disorganized and rude. Cons: ALL AROUND BAD more

I SIGNED UP, CALLED TO CANCELL THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE A FAX, I TALKED TO THE OWNER SALLY WHO WAS SO ABRUPT AND RUDE, I MAILED A COPY OF MY LICENSE THEIR BILL AND A LETTER...., OF COURSE THEY SAY THEY DIDNT GET IT, WELL I MAIL BILLS OUT EVERY MONTH FOR 20YRS AND NO ONE EVER CALLS ME TO SAY THEY DIDN'T GET THEIR MONEY! I DROPPED ANOTHER ONE OFF THERE, STILL NO CANCELLATION, SHE TELLS ME SHE CAN'T CANCELL WITH A BALANCE ??? I HAD TO GO IN THERE AT THERE BUSY TIME AND WAIT FOR A CANCELATION WHICH SHE WOULDN'T GIVE OR SIGN THE LETTER I WAS LEAVING UNTIL SHE REALIZED OTHER GUEST WOULD SEE HER BULLSHIT! went to escape because there was an ad on the circular that said I could sign up with no down payment and no contract.......Wrong, there was definitly a contract and now thanks to this contract i get charged for a gym I dont go to and have collectors nagging me because they say i owe them. Very misleading contract, they keep deducting maintenance fees even though you cancel your yearly membership, so you actually end up paying a ""maintenance fee"" for a year you won't be there. Definately not what I was told in the beginning. Very deceiving contracts, watch out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pros: All woman gym Cons: Once they get your checking account watch out! more
