Wow, is all I can say about this place. If you are not from the area- you will not know how it is or where to ind it. It is a little fami;y owned place that is a little hidden, but once you find it- OMG...quite possilbe the best ice cream you will ever have! All of the reviews are right-you cannot be Errma's. The custard is so smooth and creamy and the flavors they have are amazing- there are tons of them. Plan ion waiting if you go on a nice night in the summer- but this wait is definelty worth it! Pros: Anything to do with ice cream and sweets Cons: Nothing! more

Erma's is the best ice cream shop everrrr!!!!!! I was first told about this place from my uncle and aunt. who showed my parents before i was born. Ive been going there ever since i can remeber. Their ice creamm is extreamlly good and i love almost all of their flavors of the week!!! My uncle was in love with the place and unfortunatly past away about 6 months ago. We go there all the time in memory of him. Ironically he was buried at the cemetary just down the road. Ermas is memorable and has the best ice cream... NO1 ELSE COMES CLOSEEEEEE!!! Ice cream for angels in heaven! 6/23/2005

I have never had ice cream that really typified the word ""cream"" as Erma's does. Just a small building, on a small street, they way things used to be. Besides creamy taste, the flavor is full, or turned up a few notches over anything I have ever tasted. If the angels in heaven eat ice cream, this is the one they choose! Ever since I first tasted Erma's frozen custard last year, I am crazy about it. It is truly out of this world. The texture is so creamy! They also have some interesting flavors of the week, parfaits, sundaes etc. which are great. In this past year, I must have been there 15 times and it is half an hour away, and it is closed half the year! Pros: good quality, nice ambience Cons: , less flavor variety more

Erma's custard is by far the best! NOTHING else on your list even compares! Erma's has been in Utica for 60 years and is better than ever! Try their special flavors-a new one every week. My favorite is Wild Erma - it's awesome! more

Erma's is the best place for custard. They have weekly flavors that are the best, and so much to choose from. There is sometimes long lines, but it is definently worth the wait! I would recommend anyone to go to Erma's! Pros: inexpensive, great custard, lots of choices Cons: the lines more

Erma's is the best because they use ""OLD FASHION"" machines which deliver the custard with a fluffier consistancy! Their special flavor each week will always have fruit, nuts, or candy mixed in it, and they also donate to local charities! more

I love Ermas Frozen Custard, for something thats been throught soo much in Uticas history. It Been here for 60yrs and i know it will be here for a long time .. Dont let the long lines , or the crowded parking lot scare you , it goes by fast! more

Simply the best in the nation 7/29/2002

I had my first Erma's in 1964...loved it then and still do after almost 40 years. It is simply the best vanilla or chocolate you can find anywhere. I've been to Ted Drewes on Route 66 and tried those in Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, New York, Kentucky Missouri, Oklahoma and Kansas... None of which compared to Erma's. They offer the traditional flavors along with flavors of the day.. All are fabulous. Overall from price to flavor Erma's is EXCELLENT!! more
