Erin is AMAZING! 1/16/2011

As I have been working with Erin, I have found her to be very compassionate and understanding. Although I am a very private person, I feel I can open up my heart to her, for she is highly trustworthy, a great listener, and very wise. She is talented at comprehending situations and at having great advice to offer. With her calm demeanor, patience, and great sense of humor, Erin is fun to be with in a relationship. Erin teaches you how to think positively and appreciate your body. Erin guides you to shift your focus from external appearance to value the truly important things in life. If you are suffering from an eating disorder or need a great listening ear, I would highly recommend Erin. more

Highly Recommend 1/13/2011

I came to Erin as a patient in need of guidance for a diet to improve my health and lose weight. It can be a very venerable situation to admit that you know nothing about what foods to eat and that you currently have horrible eating habits. Mine were that I would skip meals completely in favor of working through lunch and often not eat all day until dinner and then have a very large meal. It was the exact wrong way to maintain your health and weight. I also ate all of the wrong things filled with fat and sugar which compounded my problem. more

The Dietician that makes a difference 1/12/2011

I first met Erin nearly 6 years ago when I was struggling with quite grave effects of anorexia. What drew me to trusting her almost immediately was her combination of honesty, genuine care and compassion, and intelligence. In a way, she felt like a super professional friend. Not only has she imparted so much knowledge and insight in relation to the experience of living with an eating disorder, Erin has managed to do it in a raw, no b.s., fully committed way. She has contributed immensely to my recovery, and, although I no longer need to see her on a regular basis, I have been fortunate enough to be carrying her voice with me every day. I would recommend Erin to anyone looking for a dietician with complete confidence. more

Brilliant Dietician Therapist 1/9/2011

I was first diagnosed with an eating disorder at the age of 14. I saw many, many dietitians and therapists before being hospitalized five years later, where I saw even more dietitians and therapists. After the hospital, I continued seeing dietitians and therapists. I can honestly say that none of them has helped me more than Erin; I honestly don't want to think about where I would be today if it weren't for her. What makes Erin different is her intuitive, unflinchingly honest and courageous approach to treating eating disorders. She deals with both the physical repercussions and nutritional demands, which she is extremely knowledgeable about, and which is where all other nutritionists that I have seen stop. Erin goes deeper than that, way deeper to the underlying current of your relationship with food. And this is why she is more than just a dietitian; she truly is a dietician therapist. Her approach is unique and unlike any other in that she deals very honestly and personally with you as you are. Most dietitians tell you the same thing - calories, exchanges, same old story. Erin opens you up to your own intuition and deals head-on with all your fears, anxieties, and shame. If you are being plagued by any eating issues, I strongly, strongly encourage you to make an appt. with Erin. She will change your life in the best way; she did mine. more

Thank You. 1/7/2011

I was diagnosed with an eating disorder as a scared and confused teenager, and can honestly say that if it weren?t for Erin, I would have continued to let that part of me define my personality. With Erin?s help, over the past three years I have grown into a more secure, flexible, and happy individual, and for that I will be forever grateful. From the first meeting, Erin seemed to understand and sympathize with my struggle, even when I could not. I remember leaving my first session with her terrified of the food-related challenges ahead but inspired to work hard to achieve them. She pushed me to my limits, encouraging me to counter the voice of my very stubborn eating disorder with a healthier, more rational voice. She showed me that I can enjoy food again despite whatever guilt or uneasiness eating may bring me, and It is hard for me to express how lucky I feel to have found her. more

One of the reasons i'm still alive today 1/7/2011

I feel extremely lucky to have had Erin as a part of my recovery from my eating disorder that I have struggled with for over half my life. Erin was able to get through to me in a way no one else ever could. She never gave up on me continued to challenge me and my relationship with food. She helped me battle my ""food beliefs"" one by one and pushed me to my fullest potential. She for sure practices what she preaches and has inspired me to push through all fears. She helped me discover that my disorder isn't really about the food it is about the emotions that come up when the food is placed in front of me. She challenged me and I believe that with out her constant pushing I would not be alive today because I was scared of every food and was not able to let myself have any of it. The most important thing that Erin taught me is that I can actually enjoy food and enjoy the company I am with while eating. She went out of her way to make eating fun and desirable. I love her to death and if you have been struggling with an eating disorder or you think you need help she is my number one recommendation. more

Knowledgable and Supportive! 1/7/2011

As someone who has been working with Erin for quite awhile, it's hard to express how grateful I am for her knowledgable guidance and unwavering suport of me throughout my battle with a painful eating disorder. She has helped free me of my MANY stringant ""food rules"" and has helped me see that intuitive eating is possible. She will even eat with me when I'm scared to take the leap myself and help talk me through the challenge. She has gone out of her way on many occasions to help however she can. I have learned from her that listening to my body and honoring its needs and cravings is positive, healthy and opens up a whole new world of freedom! I can honestly say that I believe Erin was a key person in saving my life. I HIGHLY recommend her, she is a talented and thoughtful dietician. more

GREAT DIETICIAN 10/21/2008

Our session with Erin Naimi provided us with valuable nutritional information which dramatically improved our eating habits. She gave us personalized guidelines based on a thorough analysis of our diet and the goals we wanted to achieve in terms of overall health improvement. What was most helpful was the shopping outing at the market where she showed us what foods to buy in order to fit our lifestyles needs (meals that are easy to prepare...we are not big on cooking!) Erin is easy to talk to and is very realistic about making changes in one's diet. She understands that food is meant to be enjoyed and she does not adhere to rigid and unhealthy rules. more

Finally, some advice that works! 10/13/2008

This is my first review on Citysearch but I felt compelled after having such a successful visit with Erin Naimi. I've had Ulcerative Colitis (a chronic disease where your immune system attacks your digestive system) for 10 years with mixed results from various prescription medications. I decided to do some research and network with other IBD sufferers to see if there might be some useful information out there my doctors weren't providing. I came across lots of evidence that diet and proper nutrition could greatly improve my symptoms but every doctor I mentioned this to looked me in the eye and told me diet had no affect on my disease. I decided to go out on my own and began researching nutritionists in the area. When I found out Erin had worked for several years at Cedar Sinai (one of the top hospitals for IBD's in the country) I decided to set up an appt. - and boy am I glad I did! Very quickly into our first session, Erin was able to tell me exactly what I was eating each day that was causing me problems. She taught me the difference between soluble and insoluble fiber and gave me a concise, detailed list of approved foods and others I should stay away from. She was able to quickly formulate a plan that worked for my specific condition and was able to throw in plenty of fun and enticing food options (like peanut butter and banana smoothies!) so I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything. She also recommended supplements that I wish I had been taking regularly for years (including a multi-vitamin specifically developed for colitis sufferers that curiously no doctor had ever even mentioned before). Within days of adhering to Erin's suggestions, I felt noticeably better. I have stuck to Erin's diet for several months now and feel great! I am now recommending her to all my family, friends and co-workers. Pros: Ambience, Professionalism, Communication, Follow up more

Food Therapy for your belly and your head! 9/11/2007

My session with Erin was top notch. I really didn't know what to expect when i walked into her office. She was very professional and i felt very comfortable with her right away. Erin listened to my nutritional history and was able to steer me in the right direction in meeting my dietary needs. She's insightful and brilliant! I talked on and on about myself and she didn't yawn once - amazing, i know. Erin has a very sincere demeanor that makes you want to pour out all your twisted, spagetti thoughts so she can unravel them and restore sense and order. more

Best Nutritionist/Therapy Ever 11/6/2006

Erin's sessions aren't about dieting - she helps you work through your emotions surrounding food. Her sessions are like therapy and they focus on all areas of your life - not just food. Her sessions have transformed my life and she's been able to give me real ways to work through my emotional eating issues. When I first started seeing her, I was frustrated about dieting and exercising compulsively. Now, I can eat without guilt, and lead a healthy balanced life. Anyone that wants to gain a new perspective on themselves and their relationship with food or their body should visit Erin. I feel so lucky to have found her! Pros: easy location, flexible hours, Erin's great personality Cons: Doesn't bill through insurance directly more
