Editorial review from Citysearch 10/28/2012

this gym is really going downhill fast and in a bad way. It's very overcrowded and the management is taking no action to expand the gym. Rather they've basically saying that they're opening a new gym new year but that's one year out. I basically have to wait in line everyday to shower after a workout and the gym floor has people all over it. All of this while they charge a very high price - not worth it. more

Best Gym I've seen! 3/6/2010

The atmosphere, cleanliness, facilities, and most importantly, the trainers and classes. I haven't been pushed that hard since I played collegiate level soccer. Pros: Great equipment, lots of classes, PHENOMENAL instructors Cons: Price more

Only one year contracts 8/14/2008

I am working in San Francisco for the summer only, and also traveling very frequently for work, so it doens't make sense for me to have a membership at a gym here for now. However, Equinox is just across the street and I was hoping to be able to use it occasionally and pay for each visit. That would have been a great way to ""test drive"" the gym and consider getting a membership at my permanent location given I like the gym. I called Equinox and was told that getting a one year contract is my only option. I thought this membership policy is too rigid and wish club managers utilized a better judgement of the situation... Seems like a loss for both parties.... Cons: not flexible membership terms more

Great gym 8/26/2007

Living in SF this summer in the financial district, wanted to join a reputable gym in the area...heard good things about equinox- very glad that I joined, even for only 3 months. It's a cool gym (in the old pacific coast stock exchange building..) and the staff has always been really friendly. I got a tier 2 trainer for the summer and SOO glad I did, she is very knowledgeable and I always looked forward to training with her- worth the price. I would recommend joining, especially if you want to get a good trainer. There's also a shop, cafe, spa, pool.. Pros: Great trainers, friendly staff, cool building.. Cons: A little crowded more

Best massage i've ever had. therepist could not have done a better job. 2/23/2007

i have been getting massage therepy for many years. i finally found a practitioner that was really able to focus on my problem area (my back) and finally give me some release. since the first session i have gone back every week to see Jez. not once have i left feeling any pain, when i usually have a lot due to a car accident years ago. very professional, attentive and helpful in the healing process. If you go to equinox health club, request jez and i assure you, you will walk out feeling like a new person.\r more
