Friendly Staff, Used Books 9/23/2006

Epilogue Books is a friendly and well stocked used bookstore located on Market Avenue in Ballard. Without fail, the staff greets me at some point in my visit with warmth, they know their book selection and are readily available to answer questions, and they have a pretty large stock of books which ranges from romance to mysteries to literature and beyond. more

Epilogue Books kicks asssssss!!! 4/27/2006

I love Epilogue! Not only do they have a great selection of used books, they can order you anything new. The book is generally in your hands within 2 days! I have been going there for years. Last year I started the Ballard Book Club, and Epilogue has been nice enough to allow me to host our meetings there! Xcellent trade in credit. Friendly staff, nice layout and now a satellite of Firehouse Coffee is in the store, a nice addition! Check them out on NW market in Ballard. M. more

It'a All About Used Books 4/23/2006

The second best thing to a library is a used bookstore. Epilogue has a good collection, friendly staff, and they give you a high trade credit for your books. The addition of the coffee house is good too (although, it's not like there's not another place a half block away...). The best part? No cat smell, like SOME bookstores. more

Epilogue Books 4/11/2006

Epilogue Books hasn't been around that long, but it's got a great stock of used books as well as some new ones. They claim to give the best trade prices in Seattle, which I have no reason to doubt. The bibliophiles working there are eager to help you find what you want, including ordering any new books you might be looking for. more

Books and Coffee... yum 3/26/2006

Epilogue Books has been a great addition to Market St in the last couple of years. This spacious store offers an active calendar (readings, discussions, open mics, visiting authors etc.), an in-house coffee shop, and a great kids section. The folks here do not mess around... they buy and sell books to people who really love books. The prices are great (I often drop in to pick up a book with $5 in my pocket) but their books are in incredibly good condition on average. Epilogue doesn't pay money for used books, but they do trade *generous* credit for books in good shape. (Note: I have some books I've bought at Library book sales in the past and found that the folks at Epilogue won't buy them.) If you are looking to do gift-buying for a bibliophile, or looking to treat yourself. I highly recommend Epilogue, because they have books in all price-ranges and an incredibly wise, friendly and helpful staff. more

Great Selection in a Great Environment 3/2/2006

Lots of used book stores make me sneeze. Not so at this clean and well tended used book store. They also have a generous credit program (dollar for dollar on used books) that can't be beat. My college age daughter loves this store. more

Epilogue Books, used books and friend to writers 2/25/2006

Epilogue books has a huge variety of non-fiction ranging from language, fairy tales, metaphysical, science -- a huge quantity at very good prices, plus some children's books and a huge section of fiction books -- many, many romance and mystery, quite a few suspense, good quantity of mainstream, and just a few science fiction to my regret. They take trade in's. They also provide seating for about 20 people for poetry and prose readings sponsored by PoetsWest. A neat place to know. The staff was efficient. more

A Clean, Well-Lighted Place for Books, and Coffee 9/30/2005

Lucky me! Epilogue Books is only blocks from my house. I started poking around this new and used book store a couple months ago and I keep going back. Their selection is thoughtful. I tend to haunt the business and literary theory sections and always find something I cannot live without. The shop is bright, even on dark days with plenty of chairs for sitting and and lingering. Prices for used books are very good. Many get new acetate covers. And now they (sell and) serve coffee. Only recently they opened a Firehouse Coffee satellite in the northeast corner of the building. more
