John is now at Salon Envee !! This shop is elegant and friendly. Its staff is so well organized and caters to your every need. Their smiling faces always make you feel so welcome. John who has been doing my hair for fifiteen years now, has always made me look and feel my best. I have the hottest trend of red stylin hair !!! He is always bringing something new into his feild. He is a top notch colorist especially when it comes to Red Heads and Blondes. Years ago I had the most fabulous blonde high-lites that no one could ever come close to matching. Ask him for the formular and he'll hand you his card !!!! He has a technique all his own. Want the latest style - fabulous color - best straightening - extensions - he rocks it all. He even has a following from Manhattan that are in broadway shows and without Manhattan prices. John is truly a master stylist. His talent is to be admired. Love you lots !!!\r Helen Hair !! more

Awesome Hair from John - Worth The Trip!!! 6/19/2010

So I've known John for years, but never went to his salon because he's always worked in Astoria and I live in the West Village. After my previous hairstylist moved, I bopped around to various salons in downtown Manhattan and spent a small fortune on haircuts that I wasn't particularly satisfied with. I finally decided to take the plunge and booked an appointment with John at his old salon in Astoria. John did an incredible job coloring and cutting my hair. Since I've been going to John to get my hair done, I've gotten more compliments from friends, acquaintances, and random strangers (true story....had a random woman come up to me at a gallery opening in Chelsea to inquire who my hairstylist is) than I've ever gotten before. I was excited when John told me he was moving from his old salon to his new location at Salon Envee. The location is convenient and easy to get to and the salon itself is great. The space is bright and airy and very clean. All the staff at the salon are extremely friendly and helpful. I love going to see John at Salon Envee. I've referred a ton of folks to John, including plenty of folks who live in Manhattan and Brooklyn. The ones who have taken the plunge all agree that John's skills are worth the special trip! I am so happy that John moved to Envee Salon!! I've been a client of John's for 4 years and he has never given me a bad service. John is extremely multi-talented. He can do your makeup, hair, facial waxing and my favorite of them all, the BRAZILIAN BLOWOUT! The owner, Kathy is so sweet and accommodating that you will feel very comfortable at this salon. Great Salon 6/14/2010

I must say I am happy that my forever hairstylist John has found an awesome place to do hair!!! I went for a Keratin Complex Straightner and spent 3 hours there. The place was extremely helpful when I was looking for dinner at 6pm and helped me choose a restaurant to have food delivered. I was setup in the back of the shop to eat my dinner and felt comfortable as I eat and the salon continued with it's evening schedule. I have to mention also that I am so pleased with my Keratin Complex Straightner my hair is straight FRIZZ FREE and so easy to manage!!! Thank you John, I Love it!!! Great service at this hip salon 6/14/2010

I am extremely pleased that my hairdresser for over 10 years, John, has moved from his old place to this great salon on the corner of Ditmars Blvd and Steinway. The place is considerably larger than his former location, with lots of space, nice atmosphere, great and attentive staff. The place is clean, the staff are polite, and the atmosphere is welcoming while also being trendy. The place gets a wide mixture of clientèle from retired women to college kids and working professionals. John does a great job at coloring and I cannot imagine going anywhere else. They hit a goldmine when Vicky returned!!! 4/27/2010

Vicky has been doing my hair for over 10 years. She knows exactly what I want and dont want. she has been able to take from an eggplant red to a blonde without so much as a sweat. She has tranformed thinning, oily hair to the most amazing haircuts that make my hair look full and healthy. shes on point and know what shes doing. \r When she moved to greece 5 years ago, i would go twice a year just to get a good cut and color. She's THAT good!!!\r Now that shes back at Salon Envee, i go once a week, either for a blowout or to get my make-up done, and there Vicky is,waiting with a smile on her face, ready to conversate and make you feel right at home...\r Pros: awesome colorist and cuts more

Vicky's no-fail haircut! 4/27/2010

5 years ago Vicky gave me the most amazing haircut. I had never gotten so many compliments! But she lived in Greece and I moved back to the States and so followed many years of overpriced, underwhelming haircuts. But lucky for me and all New Yorkers Vicky is back at Envee! She gave me a beautiful, sophisticated cut and it was well worth the trip from Westchester. When I want to be sure of the result I'll always go to Vicky even if it means 2 hours on public transit! more

Best Salon in Astoria 4/10/2010

Recently discovered this long standing Astoria salon. Now I'll go nowhere else but Envee. There's a resason it's been on the corner of Ditmars & Steinway for over 10 years...they know what they are doing & aren't caught up in fancy image. The salon itself isn't a large space with fancy fixtures, yet it's still hip and definitely all business. Anastasia did a fantastic job with color correcting my over blonde hair & giving it a bit of a trim & texture to spruce it up. I walked out of there looking and feeling 10 pounds lighter...it's amazing what a great cut & color will do for a woman. Anastasia took one look at my hair, asked a couple of questions and made quick work of things. A process that probably would have taken at least 2 -3 hours somewhere else took her a little over an hour. She is professional, efficient & gave me that Jennifer Aniston color - that perfect natural looking blonde on brunette...The best part was she created a color that only needs a glaze in about 6 weeks so it won't cost an arm & a leg every time it needs to be touched up. Many places just keep putting on a ton of higlights so evetually you look like an overprocessed blonde - which is NEVER pretty. I've been to at least 4 other salons in the 5 years and it looks like I finally found ""the one"". I was a client of Lindsay's at Gigi but went back once since she left & they ruined what she had created (perfect cut & color). I then attempted to go back a second time & they ""lost"" my appointment. With Envee, I am thrilled with the result & at the end of the day, that's all any woman wants when she walks out of a salon. Great Salon for Color Correction 3/4/2010

I had very dark hair that I wanted to put some highlights in - pretty simple NOT! After going back to the stylist to correct my hair 8 times I gave up and went to Envee. I booked an appointment with Anastasia and it was the best thing I ever did. She was friendly, experienced and told me exactly what to expect from my bleached out over processed hair. I seriously look like a whole new person. And the kicker is that I am getting married in two months and I am 110% relieved I found Anastasia or I would be a hairstravesty on my wedding day. I have tried several other salons in Astoria all to my dissapointment. I don't normally write reviews but I know there are other girls out there that are in the same situation as me and I hope this review helps you end your bad hair experience asap. GO ANASTASIA!!!!!!!!! 12/18/2009

The people are warm and friendly and will take you without an appointment if there is time in between. They all certainly look like they know what they are doing and I have chatted with many who come to this place and were very pleased. My friend Debbie also recommended me this place so I giver her 5 stars but let me tell you, that ever since I came to do the Keratin Treatment with Anastasia , I'm so happy with my hair. She is a great human being and a very warm individual. A person you can chat easily and talk as though you knew her for ages. I have no more frizz and I can't wait to write a review after my color which is finally time I can do since my keratin treatment. GO ANASTASIA!!!!!!!!!
