Good entrees, fantastic everything else 11/15/2007

I don't often leave restaurants with a $110 tab for 2 saying ""that was less than I expected,"" but I did here. This was my wife's and my first visit to Entourage, and everything but the main entrees was stunningly good. \r \r The building is freakishly large, and the decor is Wildfire meets Ikea. I'm used to hearing piped-in Sinatra & Bennett or maybe a live jazz trio in this sort of place; Entourage is going for a different feel. The music is clubby and quite loud (both the entrance area and bar). If I hadn't heard ""A Common Disaster"" by Cowboy Junkies (a personal favorite) I would have written the music off as a lame attempt at uber-hipness. I'm a fool for that song though, so bye-bye judgment. Anyway, the music might be why the bar was full of 20-somethings, whereas Morton's and Ruth's Chris probably have a mean barsitter age of about 46.8 plus tax.\r \r The service was nothing short of amazing, like a synchronized swim team without the bad swimcaps. You'd swear they were using cue cards or bluetooth to coordinate the bus staff and servers' timing. I seriously doubt anyone will find fault with the service or presentation here.\r \r Food highlights include the pretzel rolls (trust me, try one), the best lobster bisque or garlic mashed potatoes my wife or I have ever tasted, and really good side dishes. The wine and scotch lists are impressive and tempting as well (the only restaurant where I've seen Dalmore Cigar Malt, incidentally). For us, the low point was the main course; my ""medium"" Manhattan NY Strip was closer to well done, and wasn't the best cut of meat before cooking. The unexpectedly sweet/tangy/barbecue-ish glaze didn't help. Hoping for something like Wildfire's macadamia crusted halibut, my wife didn't entirely dig the banana coconut butter sauce on the macadamia-crusted tilapia.\r \r All in all though, we'll be back... with everything else as good as it was, I'm inclined to think that choosing different entrees might have made this a 5 instead of a 4 for us. Pros: Service, atmosphere, sides, wines, cordials Cons: Entrees, parking more

This restaurant is the one, Don't wait for a special occasion. We are glad to have been there. 11/16/2006

Our recent 36th anniversary celebration there was very special. Do not save your visit to Entourage for your anniversary, or other special occasion. Do it when you next ask yourself, where can we go this time? \r It was a very elegant and welcoming atmosphere, that surrounded us with the promise of a very comfortable dinner. The menu choices were exciting to chose from. The choice of which of the items was indeed, hard to chose between. The plate presentation was very charming, the food taste and texture, above our expectations. And the ending also added to our enjoyment of the visit, because it was very reasonable. Pros: Unique front entrance features more

Everything is good except FOOD 10/23/2006

If food is your number 1 priority, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. I have been there thrice, but the food was not upto the mark. Presentation was great, but the ingredients were terrible. One time, my steak tasted stale, the other time Tuna was not frsh at all and it was chewy. I wasn't impressed with the salad either, too much dressing. Although, the service was great all three times. The atmosphere and ambience was great as well. Also, the wine list although overpriced, it pretty decent. more
