You are in good hands here. This salon is always busy, which is a good sign. The location is a bit tricky the first time you show up because it is upstairs in the plaza. Do a Google search and you can find a coupon on their website for first-time clients. I originally came here a couple of years ago because I wanted to go blonde, but not the OC bleach-blonde like you see all over Newport. They assigned me to to Jamie, and she did an excellent job. She listened to my concerns, made some suggestions, and talked me through what she was doing. It was somewhat expensive, in my opinion, but I was 150% satisfied. I absolutely loved my hair and I wouldn't have done any differently. The color and cut were wonderful and I received numerous compliments on the new 'do. It was a drastic change for me and the new look was well worth the price. When I went back to brown hair, it was mainly due to financial reasons. It is a LOT cheaper for me to dye my own hair at home than it is to get my roots touched up professionally every 2-3 months. I was also in search of a cheaper cut, but something always seemed to be wrong no matter where I went. This even happened when I went to the esteemed Toni & Guy in Newport, which was a surprise to me! I always found myself coming back to Jamie, so she could fix what someone else screwed up. I have seen her for blonde hair, brown hair, short hair and long hair. Once, and only once, the cut didn't turn out to my liking, but she fixed it right away when I told her what I didn't like about it and it came out great. I finally decided to stop trying to find a cheaper place because the quality of the cut diminishes significantly, which is only to be expected after receiving such superior service at Empire Salon. I highly recommend visiting this salon if you are looking for professional, personalized service and a great haircut and/or color, because that is what you will get.
Pros: Great stylists, a comfortable setting, good music playing
Cons: A bit pricey, and they are closed on Sunday
