Plain and simple.... the pizza required more sauce, less cheese and the thin crust had absolutely no taste! However, I enjoyed the goat cheese and toasted triangle's appetizer. ...

Best Pizza! 2/1/2007

It's worth the wait when its busy. We had a drink while waiting for a table. Order a half and half pizza to try different toppings. Great food, romantic, a perfect night out. Pros: Very good pizza, beer, wine and sangria. Cons: I ate too much. more

best thin crust pizza 11/2/2006

originally from italy, the challenge I face is finding a place that makes pizza the way it is back 'home'. Emma's is the only place in my experience so far in Boston that has found just the right balance for pizza. A classic cheese pizza tastes like it should and their 'fancy' pizza is never a let down. more

THE BEST!! 5/21/2006

Emma's has the best bang for your buck if you want to a nice dinner with friends... the five of us shared the Spring Fling salad (SO tasty!), three different pizzas, and a bottle of wine. The food was excellent and the service above average even though we probably stayed a little longer than we should've (although it was near closing and no one needed our table). The tables are a little cramped, I don't think they take reservations, and parking can be tricky but the worse thing is that they aren't open for lunch on weekends! Emma's - please don't deprive us of your delicious food on a Saturday afternoon any longer! Pros: amazing food, consistent quality, great atmosphere Cons: closed Sat/Sun lunch, little seating, long wait possible more

This place is amazing! 5/10/2006

I love the pizza here! It is quite different from any other pizza I have had. Emma's pizza is super thin with a cracker-like crust. They have an incredible menu, with quite original pizza toppings. My favorite is the #7 which has pepperoni and hot cherry pepper relish. Their buffalo chicken pizza is made with spicy chicken, gorgonzola and mozzarella cheeses, and is topped off with sliced raw celery. My wife loves the #3 which comes with spinach, sweet potato, caramelized onions, garlic, mozzarella and goat cheese. In addition to the delicious pizza, they have the most incredible tuna sandwich I have ever had! Did I mention they serve beer and wine? Emma's has been around for quite some time, but it changed hands a couple of years ago, and the new owner has brought new life to the place. It is very welcoming, and always has great music playing. Pros: great atmosphere, great menu, great music more

Nice Place 3/21/2006

I recently visited Emma's and tried their pizza. It was very good...just the way I like it. A good pizza place is hard to find. There are so many around but none have lived up to what I expect until I ate at Emma's. The pizza's awesome. I highly recommend this place. Pros: Excellent Pizza, Location, Service more

Lavash 3/18/2006

Emma's is pretty tasty, but it's not pizza, it's lavash. It's also OK lavash, but not great lavash. The original owners were Armenian-Americans and they made great lavash, which they called pizza. Sad to say, Emma is no longer with us. Nor is the lavash that made her famous. The only reason to go to Emma's is if you're going to Landmark Theatres around the corner. Otherwise, go to Watertown and buy great lavash. more

Crust is sent from heaven 1/27/2006

Toppings are wonderful combinations. Good ambience too. beer and wine choices are above average if not spectacular. Waits are to be expected but have a drink.. Best Pizza in Boston--Hands-down more

The Best Pizza Ever 8/24/2005

Sometimes I like a nice doughy pie or a super thin crust with sweet sauce, but for overall taste and funky toppings Emma's is the place to go! I get the goat cheese, sweet potato, carmelized onion pizza and it is fantastic! They used to have guava jelly as a topping and I still use it when I make funky pizza's at home. The restaurant is tiny and the service is pretty good, prices are normal for the city and overall it is just damn good pizza :) A great time for dates and friends is the Kendall Theatre for a movie, Emma's and maybe Christina's in Inman Square for ice cream! Pros: Yummy Pizza, Funky Toppings, Good Location Cons: Small, Not open all the time more

Fantastic pizza 4/22/2005

It's a small, cozy restaurant and the service is friendly and efficient. But the pizzas are out of the world. Wonderful thin crusts and inventive combinationsthey have over 20 different combinations on the menu (other places maybe have 10-12 options), but you can also customize a pizza to have any toppings you like. And the ingredients range from the usual suspects (pepperoni, mushrooms, sausage, peppers, mozzarella) to a little different: smoked gouda, cracked green olives, sun-dried tomatoes. The salads are also quite good, and large enough for 2 people to share as an appetizer or eat as a main dish. And while it is a pretty busy place, it's amazing to me how quickly you're able to get a table despite how packed it isboth at lunch and evening. Pros: excellent pizza, friendly staff, great value Cons: may be a wait, small place, hard for large groups more

Jamie Williams 11/12/2004

This is my regular pizza place. You are gauranteed good service with the owner working in the place. Its a great crowd that works there. The pizzas are the best and they permit you to pick and choose what you want on top. I'd recommend mushrooms, olives, basil, sun-dried tomotoes (chopped finely) with traditional sauce and cheese. This is a great location for popping across to the Kendall Cinema. Pros: Foods, Good Service, Owner on-site more

Doesn't live up to the hype 4/20/2004

Lots of people I know love Emma's and I have to assume it's because they haven't had a lot of good pizza. This is pizza for people who like to eat out, not pizza for people who like pizza. It's kind of fancy, with lots of interesting toppings, and the restauarant is cute and the waitstaff funky. If you're looking for a really great pie, though, go elsewhere. Cons: , Tight seating more

I've had better 2/13/2004

Plain and simple.... the pizza required more sauce, less cheese and the thin crust had absolutely no taste! However, I enjoyed the goat cheese and toasted triangle's appetizer. The atmosphere was cozy and I was inpressed by the selection of music piped in. It's too bad the pizza was not for my taste. Pros: atmosphere, good location Cons: , the crust, rosemary sauce more

Impressive! 12/5/2002

Surprisingly good considering such a thin crust. I think I ate a large pizza by myself. Pros: very good, it's pizza! more

BETTER THAN GOOD 11/1/2002

Emma's Pizza is awesome. It is the sauce that makes every kind of pizza an experience. I would highly recommend it. Pros: Food, Waitstaff, Inexpensive more

I LOVE EMMA ('s) 11/1/2002

EMMA'S PIZZA is the best. You see, when my friends Matt, Rosy, and EMMA went into Boston for the day for a lil fun. We took the T to Kendall Sqaure, becuase we thought that it was a place of much commerce. We were wrong. Before getting back on the T we thought we might as well check out the place to see if there was anything to eat because we were starving. Thats when we saw Emma's Pizza. The pizza is AMAZING as my friend Rosy would say. The bathroom was my favorite part next to the food. SO if you ever get lost near Kendall Square, check out Emma's Pizza, and drink a lot so you can go to the cool bathroom! Pros: Good pizza, good pizza, convient location.... more

Best Pizza in the UNIVERSE 10/8/2002

No doubt. The grilled chicken is heavenly, the smoked hot sausage is just fantastic! Everything about this pizza is PERFECT! more

Mmmm Boy 'dats Good! 8/27/2002

Eat sauce, bread, and cheese... anywhere you like. Then eat PIZZA at Emma's. more

Family Fun 8/25/2002

Great family-run atmosphere. Service is always good if somewhat kafka-esque. Gourmet-style pizza without a pint of olive oil. And the best toppings... try bacon and carmelized onion with gorgonzola for a try. more

Emma's = perfect pre-movie meal! 8/23/2002

Emma's is the best thing in Kendall Square!!! The salad's are excellent, staff really nice (I was given two free movie tickets by the owner just for thanking them for such good pizza!), and the pizza is superb. Great, balanced sauce, just enough cheese and super crisp crust. Best bet for pre-movie cheap eats! Pros: Inexpensive, Excellent PIZZA!!!, Beer, wine Cons: Sometimes a wait, Menu ltd to pizza etc more

What's the big deal? 8/13/2002

I've been reading the hype about Emma's for years, and I finally went there last week. I just don't get it! Why does everyone rave about this place. The pizza is average, not great. (I will give them extra points for the cracker thin crust though!) Service, while not rude, isn't overly friendly either. more
