do not go here 8/8/2011

I took my old cat there, after he suffered a stroke, and was told there was nothing they could do, and that I had to wait or put him to sleep. He was going to die anyway. And for them to treat him, it was going to cost big $$$ and that I had to pay BEFORE they even would assist him. I took my poor old boy home, called my regular vet, and met the vet at his place and put the old boy out of his misery peacefully and at a lot less... WHY would anyone want to go there??? AWFUL place! more

No compassion, very rude, WORST experience 2/19/2011

If you are void of compassion, why would you work at an emergency veterinary clinic? \r \r My completely heartbroken mom took her very sick cat in to the emergency clinic, and was told he had to be put down. She only had my stepfather's credit card on her to pay for the euthanasia--and they would not accept it. I called, and said I would pay for it over the phone (I live on the North Side) and they would not allow it. So, my mom had to sit in the clinic with her suffering cat for over an hour while my stepdad sped there from work to pay to have their cat put to sleep. \r \r What an awful situation. The woman I spoke to over the phone was very rude and condescending. Like, yeah, we are trying to pull a fast one on you by having our cat put to sleep. \r \r What is wrong with people? \r \r Awful, awful experience and I wish for my mother's sake there were another emergency veterinary clinic near her home. more

crestwood emergency vet..TERRIBLE!! 8/17/2010

my 17 year old daughter brought my dog there because he was having bloody stools and vomiting. he was very lethargic and appeared that he might be dying.I was three hours away and my daughter could not pay. i tried to pay by phone but they would not accept phone payment and they made my daughter stay there until i arrived. she ended up being there FIVE HOURS! diagnostics were done but NO treatment! they would have let him die! plus they were cold, rude, and showed NO compassion! took dog to New Lenox who were WONDERFUL! more

not on a bet 8/13/2010

We brought our wonderful old lab in who was suddenly, totally out of the blue, unable to walk, miserably sick, etc. Vet (who amazingly kept repeatedly telling me, in detail, how awful he felt with his head cold) told me our dog had just eaten something "off", but that he would be fine, and to take him home. I refused, and asked that he be monitored overnight. Spoke to the office the next day, and was told the same thing, and to come pick him up, which we did; he was so weak he couldn't walk out to the car, but was still told he'd be just fine. Got him home, made him as comfortable as possible, and he died that night, with my kids sleeping on the floor next to him. And the bill for their "care"? $1,600.00. I'm only giving a star because the system requires one; this place certainly doesn't deserve even that. FIND ANOTHER EMERGENCY VET. more

thank you! 5/25/2009

to Sandee k:\r I have lived in Crestwood and Midlothian for years. yes, Crestwood emergency care hospital used to be good, we used it many times. it has gone downhill. \r our cat became very ill over the memorial day weekend, on Sunday. I thought we wouldn't have a choice about where to take her, but, because of your review, i checked the colonial manor vet hospital in homer glen, and to my surprise, found they are open on Sundays from 10-2. I called, and a very kind voice told me to come in. it was a sad day, but they were caring and compassionate. thank you, and i would recommend this hospital to anyone. more

Thank you so much! 5/5/2009

This Clinic is terrible and need sensitivity training!! 2/7/2008

I took my neighbor's dog to the vet clinic after being hit by two cars. The owner was at college and ok me to take her there. I arrived and was told that they could not see the injured dog unless I assumed financial responsibility. I called the neighbor and informed her the situation of treating her dog. I asked her if she wanted me to assume financial responsibility. She said yes. I told the vet technician that I would take responsibility of the bill until my neighbor arrived. Another lady started the paperwork. As she was getting the paperwork slowly and this dog was dying, the other lady kept going on and on about how she hope I understand that it is my responsibility if I fill out the paperwork and I told her over 10 times I understand all in all still not giving me the paperwork and this dog was dying hardly breathing. She went on to say, "People of average income can not usually afford to pay the vet bill. I was so INSULTED! I had never disclosed to her my financial information a more

Very Helpful 8/9/2006

Having at one point five cats and a diabetic dog, you can imagine that I needed veterinary care round the clock! I found that whenever I needed immediate assistance I'd call the Emergency Vet in Crestwood and I was given prompt service and explanations, even required information to help diagnose the problem! Thank you for keeping my pets in the best shape! more

Easy name to remember when you need it! 8/2/2006

I took my parents 18 year old beagle to this facility while I was dog sitting. Fritz was blind, mostly deaf, and obese. She was also having trouble breathing. They helped me get the dog through the door and put up with me having to yell, "COME!!!!" and "SIT!!!" every so often. They were very attentive to Fritz's special needs, and were very gentle while giving her an xray. They were accurate with their diagnosis and took a lot of time to explain treatment options to me. They are easy to find, with a large sign on a major street, which I appreciated since I was not familiar with the area. PROS: easy to find, compassionate CONS: none that I can think of more

Excellent Emergency Care 9/5/2005

We took my dog here when she was dying a long painful death. We received quick medical care, in this case putting her to sleep. Although we were sad, the staff took the utmost care with my precious dog and we felt we did the best for her. I will agree that this vet is more expensive than some regular vet care centers, but for true emergencies you can't beat this place and their excellent care. PROS: Excellent, knowledgeable emergency care CONS: A little pricey, but worth it in emergency situations more
