Emerald Dental Practice

IF YOU FEEL GENEROUS AND WOULD LIKE TO GIVE AWAY YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY IN RETURN FOR POOR SERVICE, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO!!! I have dealt with a lot of shady business practices and people, but this place definitely takes the cake. I'm surprise they're still in business and still able to deceive unsuspecting people. To make matter worst, they have the rudest, most unprofessional, obnoxious, and condescending employees that I have ever seen and experience in my entire life. Like previous reviews here, they have a very poor and questionable business practice. It is obvious because they have a readily made binder and poorly made signs telling you that any visits for whatever reasons can cost you between $0-200. This must happen often enough so they armed themselves with this so called office policy to counter you on everything you say and protect themselves if people chose to question them. The office manager even seemed to have well-rehearsed but abrasive answers for everything you say so you never have an opportunity to address your concerns.\r I've been to many offices for various reasons, anywhere from medical to dental and even to a car repair shop. I've never been provided a service without a clear and concise explanation of benefits...""this column is our cost, this is what insurance pays and this is your cost."" Office manager tells me that it is our problem that we do not understand their policy and that our insurance is subpar and didn't cover the treatment. The part that upsets me most is that my intention was not to dispute the fee since it was already paid. I essentially chalked it up as a lesson learned. The most upsetting is that I did not even have a chance to finish my question before she went on the defense and pulled out her special binder and started to rattle on incessantly about their policy. This tells me that they do this more often than not. Maybe this is their common practice to cover their shady policy. Oceanside and surrounding areas have many other great dentists who will provide you with superior services even on their worst days.\r \r PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, I BEG OF YOU, AS A FELLOW CONCERNED CITIZEN, DO NOT SUPPORT THEIR BUSINESS! I was originally referred to Emerald Dentistry by a friend,. I spoke to Elizabeth the Manager, and from there my experience has been one that I can honestly say pretty much shattered my conception of the ""Dentist experience"". She has been great, the Dr.s and assistants work as a team, they do beautiful work and meade me feel very comfortable, and best of all Elizabeth gave me a great deal on all the work I needed. I highly recommend Emeral Dentistry to anyone looking for a Dentist. Thanks Liz more

Had my first visit today at this office. I have been seeing another dentist that does not take my insurance so I thought I would try a dentist that does. I was pleasantly surprised the doctor was friendly and the staff was great. they went over all my treatment with me from needed work to optional replacements. I highly recommend this office to any one who is looking for new dentist. Elizabeth was great from the first time I called to the end of my visit. She went through all my options and explained all to me showing me in my xrays why I needed work. I look forward to coming back for my cleanings and needed dental treatment. more

I highly recommend this practice. I transferred my insurance to them after having some emergency work done. They are always pleasant, welcoming and gentle. They also work with you on payments, financing and scheduling. Great dentist with great customer service. 5 Stars for sure!\r \r Shane more

I really love this office my son and I have had nothing but good experiences. They are always willing to work with us. Especially because dental treatment can be expensive theses days and I had not been I a long time. They always have my best interest at heart and make sure that I am receiving the best treatment. The staff is awesome and Dr. Khan is the best. Alls I can say is wow and thank you. more

I want to start off by saying I never write reviews, but this was such a horrible experience. I came in because I was having tooth pain. The DA's appear nice. But after one X-ray, they said with no hesitation that I needed a root canal. They said that I needed it done asap and that it costed almost 600 dollars. I told them that I didn't have the kind of money so they tried to set me up with a payment plan. It was very rushed and they didn't even give me time to think about it. I didn't qualify for the payment plan, so there was no way I could pay for it. The lady kept trying to make me feel guilty and kept saying how I needed this root canal in the most scary ways possible. And when I refused, she gave me the most rude 'goodbye' ever. I went to a different dentist and she told me that I might not even need a root canal. She did actual tests instead of x-rays. She did a hot/cold test of the tooth, tapping of the tooth ect ect. She got rid of the decay and put a temporary restoration called 'IRM', and told me to leave it in for 3 weeks, and if the tooth didnt hurt anymore then I wouldn't need a root canal. She also said that my nerve wasn't exposed. I ended up not needing a root canal at all, and I felt like this office was just after my money or a quick fix. This is the worst experience I've ever had in a dental office. more

GO HERE AND LOSE YOUR TEETH!!! I took my girlfriend here because I've been a couple times for cleanings (which were always cold and rigid) so I figured they would be alright for an exam for my girlfriend regarding her hurting tooth. WRONG! This is what my gf has to say: Not only did they tell me nothing regarding my hurting tooth, the one I came in to get looked at, but they told me that the tooth next to it was cracked at the root! This was according to the fuzzy x-ray pics and lack of competence on the part of Elizabeth (the butch and bitchy head honcho in charge). It was not taken into consideration that that was not the tooth that was hurting and instead I was told that it was a one in a million case where the teeth behind the cracked tooth were what caused it by pushing laterally on it. This was told to me with 100% confidence. I was devastated, I cried the whole way home and was miserable up to the point of surgery, dreading the new homeless look I would assume. Thank God for Dr. Mudd the highly decorated retired air force Lt. colonel dental surgeon in Oceanside who at first took Elizabeth's word and was ready to extricate my tooth and replace it with a bone graft for a future replacement. However he didn't feel comfortable proceeding based upon the shit-poor resolution of my x-rays so on the morning of my surgery he took a rather impromptu cat scan x-ray and discovered that my tooth was fine with NO FRACTURE. After $130 of examination fees, fret and worry for 5 days before surgery, upsetting family and friends and the time it took to schedule and attend everything it was all for nothing! I returned to the lovely folks at Emerald dental who insisted to defend their master and commander Elizabeth. I told them they messed up and they became defensive and unapologetic for their blatantly clear mishap. They are a joke, a fraud and are crooks. Do your self and the world a favor and never step foot in that place!!!! more

Beware! Very poor service! Had over $4,000 work done and 3 out of 6 teeth had to be redone which I was charged for! Waited over a hour in a dental chair to be seen more then twice. Painful 7 hours one time and 51/2 hours the next time! And that was to fix their own work. Horrible office admin. Elizabeth miss billed and then corrected only to miss bill again and again! Still a big mess! Office admin very rude. more
